Ken Howard drive and ambition
Ken Howard avoids direct confrontation as much as possible and is uncomfortable with aggressiveness, competition and personal power. His ego drive is not very dominant and Howard is not especially ambitious or eager to push his way to the top. He may feel inadequate in situations that call for strong, forceful action. The only instance in which Ken Howard will really fight is when he senses that his loved ones - or something dear to him- are being jeopardized, in which case he is a fierce defender. Ken Howard has a very strong protective side. He acts on impulse and instinct and may lash out at anyone he perceives as threatening to Ken's home or family. However, Ken Howard will rarely initiate a confrontation. His goals also tend to be very personal and centered on family closeness and inner satisfaction rather than worldly achievement.
He is sensitive to stress and does not handle a high-pressured, competitive atmosphere very well. Ken Howard is very touchy, irritable and difficult to live with when there are many demands or stressful situations at work. His energy level varies and is very dependent on the emotional harmony (or lack thereof) in his home. A supportive partner is very instrumental in helping Howard to achieve his goals and desires.
Asserting himself and being direct and forceful about what he wants is often very difficult for Ken. Though he may have a great deal of energy and drive, Ken Howard lacks confidence or simply the desire to put himself and his interests first. On the positive side, Howard can be very unselfish, working more for the benefit of others than for himself.
However, Ken Howard denies his own desires and needs too much, and he is likely to secretly become very angry, which will sabotage his finest efforts.
Ordinary life often seems drab and uninteresting to Ken and he must have something that stirs his imagination - a vision or ideal or dream to motivate him. Ken Howard has a strong urge to act out his fantasies or to live his dream, and Ken Howard will act where others merely talk or dream. Artistic creation, drama or other areas in which Howard can express himself imaginatively are excellent for him.
Work that only serves his own narrow personal interests does not satisfy Ken Howard. He may lack the competitive edge, the fighting spirit, the "me first" attitude that is often required for material advancement and success. He also tends to either overestimate or underestimate his own power and abilities.
Ken has the patience and the stamina to realize his visions and bring them down to earth, a fine balance between hard work and realism, and a positive, hopeful spirit. Ken Howard grows by adhering to systems and plans, and taking one step at a time. Overnight success or instant enlightenment is not what Howard aims for. His patient, well-balanced approach gives Ken Howard credibility with many different types of people, and he is likely to acquire an excellent reputation for being able to do big things without overreaching or becoming pretentious.
Howard achieves his objectives and ambitions in life through his personal charm, attractiveness and ability to please others visually and/or emotionally. A career in the arts or entertainment world is possible for Ken Howard. Anything involving sales or promotion, particularly of beautiful or luxurious items, is an area he can flourish in. Vanity or indiscretions in relationships could lead Ken Howard to his downfall.
Ken very much wants to be in a position to be able to positively influence and help many people. However, he may believe that he has to sacrifice his idealism or convictions in order to achieve his ambitions. At times his desire for prominence, popularity or stature may make Ken Howard do things that put him in a dubious position vis-à-vis his superiors.
