In addition to having an independent spirit, as described in the previous chapter, CoCo Lee is also objective, pragmatic and quite ambitious. She is likely to work her way to the top of the ladder in some corporation, academic community or the like through her astute strategies combined with her willingness to take risks. CoCo Lee aims to be the authority, the one in charge. At times her impulsiveness may be at odds with her conservative, responsible side (which is discussed below). Lee could experience ongoing internal tension between pleasing herself and acting spontaneously versus doing what she needs to do to get ahead and realize her long-range ambitions.

Serious, disciplined and quietly ambitious, she is driven to prove herself and to achieve material accomplishments and success. Her work, her position in the world, and her contributions to society are very important to Lee. CoCo Lee will persevere through enormous hardship and frustration in order to reach a goal she has set for herself, and she often sacrifices much in the area of personal relationships and home life in order to do so.

CoCo Lee has a thoughtful, quiet and self-contained disposition and does not readily show her inner feelings and needs. CoCo Lee seems to always be in control, capable, efficient and strong. She is often the person in the family or group who is given more responsibility (and more work) than the others. She is highly conscientious and even as a child she possessed great maturity, soberness, and worldly wisdom.

She is basically a pragmatic realist, and though she may have all sorts of dreams, ideals and colorful theories, she feels that the ultimate test of a concept is its practical usefulness. CoCo has an innate shrewdness and business sense, and there is a bit of the cynic in her as well.

She is clear-headed, detached and objective, and is not swayed by emotional dramatics. She is often authoritarian - strictly fair, but without mercy. CoCo Lee has a great respect for tradition and even if she does not agree with certain laws, she will abide by them or strive to change them, but never flagrantly disregard them. Cautious and conservative, CoCo Lee plays by the rules.

She is subtle, understated, quiet, deep, not easy to get to know intimately, and never superficial. She is a modest person and sometimes overly self-critical. Giving herself (and others) permission to feel, play, be spontaneous and silly, and sometimes weak and vulnerable is not easy for Lee.

Lee's strong points are her depth and thoroughness, patience, tenacity and faithfulness. Her faults are a tendency to be rigid and inflexible, and too serious.

Her career, reputation, and public image are very important to Lee. CoCo Lee has a strong desire to be influential or make her mark on the world. The merely personal sphere does not satisfy her; her ambitions include making a major contribution and receiving broad recognition for her unique effort and gifts. CoCo Lee may undervalue the personal or inner side of life.

Her conscious intentions and goals are frequently opposed by her unconscious beliefs and desires. If CoCo Lee overrides her instincts and emotions because they seem to lead her in a direction diametrically opposed to the one she consciously desires, her emotions can become unruly. Poor relationships with women and/or difficulties in close one-on-one relationships are also a reflection of this tendency. However, if CoCo Lee attends to her emotional urges and feelings and listens to the voice of her intuition, dreams and gut feelings, she will derive greater satisfaction from a more balanced life.

She may have had a demanding and perfectionist or absent father. In any case, a lack of support and approval, a great deal of responsibility at an early age and an underlying feeling that she can never quite measure up may hold Lee back. While she may encounter a great deal of adversity and struggle alone through many of life's trials, this makes CoCo Lee tough and determined. However, Lee should beware of becoming cynical, too hard on herself, and too demanding and critical of others.

Her comprehension is exceptional and CoCo Lee reacts to everything very quickly. Lee shows deep respect for knowledge and feels that she must learn everything there is to know. Studying probably was encouraged early on and CoCo Lee was raised to be successful.
