Although Armand Carrel often appears self-controlled, disciplined, and even somewhat of an ascetic (as described on the previous page), there is also a pleasure-loving sensualist in him that thoroughly enjoys "the good life". He may sometimes feel torn between saving his hard-earned money and conserving his resources versus indulging himself and appeasing his appetite for pleasure and beauty.

He is a steadfast and patient soul, capable of tremendous devotion, dedication, endurance and constancy. The ability to follow through and stick with things is one of his greatest assets. Once Carrel's course is set, he pursues it tenaciously until it is completed, stubbornly resisting any attempts to sway him from his purpose.

Armand Carrel has a very practical nature; he wants to see concrete, tangible results for his efforts, and he is not one to concoct wild dreams that are unlikely to come into fruition. Most of his "wild dreams" have to do with material achievements, well-being and security, for he has a great love of the physical world and he wants to experience and enjoy it to the full. Though Armand Carrel will work long and persistently, he also has a strong sensual and comfort-loving side, and he wants to enjoy what he has worked for. In fact, Carrel can be enormously lazy at times and has a tendency to overindulge in good food and other earthly pleasures. Basically, his needs are simple and he is easy to please. Armand Carrel has a strong desire for security, stability and peace, and will rarely make changes unless he is forced to do so. Armand Carrel craves freedom, adventure, excitement and discovery, and is not afraid of change. Armand Carrel possesses inventive and creative genius.

Armand Carrel is extremely sensitive, compassionate and giving, often to his own detriment. His ideals and spiritual values motivate Armand Carrel, and he cannot live for personal gain or materialistic concerns alone. There must be an element of beauty, magic, imagination, inspiration or creativity in what he does. Otherwise Armand Carrel becomes listless and aimless. The arts, theater, music and/or charitable work are ideally suited to Armand.

Carrel alternates between aggression and apathy and sometimes feels that he is unable to meet all the demands made on him. Once Armand Carrel becomes aware of what he needs to do, however, he is capable of working long and hard, not giving up until his work is done.

Carrel has a strong will and great determination and is willing to work hard to reach his goals. Armand Carrel often takes on more than his share and labors untiringly, sparing himself no pain in his work. Armand should guard against over-exerting himself physically.
