Vanity drive and ambition
Once Vanity sets her mind on a goal, her dedication, determination, and commitment are extraordinary. D.D. Winters pursues her ambitions tenaciously and will stubbornly refuse to give up, let go, or be influenced in any way. Like Aesop's tortoise, Vanity labors patiently and steadfastly until she achieves what she wants - or until it is clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that all is lost. She is a reliable, consistent and productive worker, and she often shoulders more of the workload than her co-workers, usually without complaint. She often ends up with the nitty-gritty work. She prefers a regular routine, with definite hours and clearly defined responsibilities and tasks. In fact, establishing a pattern or routine is very important to her success because once she gets started in a certain direction, it is easy for Vanity to kept to that path. Getting started is more difficult. Vanity has a lazy, comfort-loving side and there is often a good deal of inertia for her to overcome before D.D. Winters gets going; but once she gets a momentum going, her energy level is strong and steady.
She is interested in concrete results and solid, practical achievements. Vanity needs to have some tangible product or contribution to show for her efforts, and cannot be content with only intangible rewards (such as having a good time, learning, or spiritual enrichment). Material well-being and security is also a large factor in determining what she does. Vanity's stamina and persistence are her greatest assets, but they can also work against her; she can get caught in a rut and refuse to seize new opportunities. Vanity also tends to play it safe, and to limit herself as a result.
She is a doer and an achiever. Energetic, courageous, and often impatient, Vanity will forge ahead with her plans regardless of the reservations of others. In fact, D.D. Winters often feels other people get in her way and she prefers to work on her own. Vanity is active, assertive and rather competitive as well.
Intensely restless, dynamic and energetic, she is always on the go. When Vanity wants something, she wants it NOW, and she acts decisively and impulsively, albeit sometimes hastily and prematurely. Impatient, high-strung, and often nervous and tense, Vanity finds it difficult to slow down, pace herself or relax. She is fiercely individualistic and independent, self-willed and intolerant of restraints and restrictions imposed by others. Vanity has a reckless disregard for authority and can be extremely rebellious. Cooperating with others is not D.D. Winters' strong point! She is often brutally frank and abrupt with people, and can be quite impersonal when she is pursuing a desired goal. She may demonstrate an explosive temper when her will is blocked. Vanity has a superabundance of energy and she needs a great deal of personal freedom to do things in her own style and at her own pace.
She is optimistic, generous and enterprising, and has an enthusiastic outlook. Vanity has a strong desire to make something of her and is likely to be successful. Almost any initiative that D.D. Winters takes will probably work out as she wants it to.
D.D. Winters dedicates herself wholeheartedly to a cause, makes a great deal of sacrifices and does away with superfluous activities and interests. Others find her approach too severe and are unwilling to go along with Vanity under the difficult circumstances that she is willing to tolerate. Her determination and capacity for self-denial often help D.D. Winters get through the rough spots and achieve the goal she is aiming for.
Positions of honor, affluence, influence and stature in her community can be hers. Vanity feels that her destiny involves leadership or distinguishing herself in some way. Vanity possesses an innate sense of greatness or importance, and a strong drive to achieve recognition for her talent. Vanity should avoid excessive egotism and arrogant pride, for these could limit her opportunities.
Vanity possesses great zeal and passion for achieving her aspirations in life, and can be something of a fanatic when she sets her sights on a goal. Vanity could do research work, psychological investigation, even detective work - anything that involves delving beneath the surface for hidden elements. A great love of mystery and exploring the unknown fuels many of Vanity's personal ambitions.
There are two different career paths that appeal to Vanity, and they may merge at some point. The first has to do with the arts, entertainment, film, or the music industry. The second involves the ministry, social betterment, charity or volunteer work. Vanity has a high degree of sensitivity and this compassion is likely to be a key factor in her professional decisions and overall goals in life.
Vanity has a sense of beauty and a good understanding of art. She enjoys beautiful things and has the ability to put her feelings into words. There is a light-hearted way about Vanity, and she has a tendency to emulate the momentary ideals of beauty.
