Although he can appear freewheeling, independent, and, at times, inconsistent (as mentioned in the previous chapter), at heart he is very loyal and constant. Robert Plant possesses a certain steadiness and firmness of will that may not be obvious to others until they get to know Robert well.

Proud and intensely individual, Robert Plant really wants to stand out, to be the very best he can be, and to be recognized and appreciated for his unique contributions. Doing something well and being respected for it is extremely important to him, and he cannot tolerate being relegated to the background, taking orders from others, or being "just one of the team".
