Although it may seem that he is just patiently plodding along, Ray-J is actually quite shrewd and has a clear purpose in mind. He is far more astute and ambitious than his rather gentle, forbearing manner (described in the previous chapter) would suggest.

Serious, disciplined and quietly ambitious, he is driven to prove himself and to achieve material accomplishments and success. His work, his position in the world, and his contributions to society are very important to Ray-J. Ray-J will persevere through enormous hardship and frustration in order to reach a goal he has set for himself, and he often sacrifices much in the area of personal relationships and home life in order to do so.

Ray-J has a thoughtful, quiet and self-contained disposition and does not readily show his inner feelings and needs. Ray-J seems to always be in control, capable, efficient and strong. He is subtle, understated, quiet, deep, not easy to get to know intimately, and never superficial. He is a modest person and sometimes overly self-critical. Giving himself (and others) permission to feel, play, be spontaneous and silly, and sometimes weak and vulnerable is not easy for Ray-J.

Ray-J's strong points are his depth and thoroughness, patience, tenacity and faithfulness. His faults are a tendency to be rigid and inflexible, and too serious.

His career, reputation and public image are very important to Ray-J. Ray-J has a strong desire to be influential or make his mark on the world. He is not satisfied with the personal sphere alone; his ambitions include making a major contribution and receiving broad recognition for his unique effort and gifts. Ray-J may undervalue the personal or inner facet of life.

He is an original! Ray-J radiates a sort of electrical excitement about the things he is interested in, and conveys this to others, but he also gets bored rather quickly. Ray-J does not mind being a bit unusual or breaking a few rules either.

He is intensely willful, zealous, and fanatical though Ray-J often hides the intensity of his feelings and his personal motives and desires. Ray-J is infatuated with power and has an almost compulsive desire for personal recognition and the desire to be "somebody". Ray-J tends to worship heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma and often seeks to emulate them. Ray-J both fears, and is intensely fascinated with, death and the hidden, secret, dark side of life.

Both sensitive and sensuous, Ray-J blends charm and energy. Ray-J has a healthy sexuality and a good balance between activity and passivity. He may be fond of singing, dancing, music and drama. Romance comes easily to Ray-J, and his romantic relationships are passionate.
