Geri Halliwell's fundamental needs, values, and orientation towards life are symbolized by the four astrological elements. Each person has their own unique balance of these four basic energies: fire (warmth, inspiration, enthusiasm), earth (practicality, realism, material interests), air (social and intellectual qualities), and water (emotional needs and feelings).

The constraints and limitations imposed by material, routine responsibilities weigh heavily upon Haliwell and she is apt to resist (or feel incapable of) taking them on. However, it is important for Geri Halliwell to impose some structure, discipline, and consistency on her life in order to realize the dreams she cherishes. Otherwise, though she has ideas, talent, inspiration, vision and hopes for the future, Geri Halliwell may have nothing tangible to show for it. One of her challenges is to come down to earth, make do with what there is (even though it is not likely to be as grand as Haliwell would like), and acquire some patience and humility in the process. Geri Halliwell needs to learn to be practical!

Especially when young, Geri Halliwell is apt to push herself beyond her limits and burn out by ignoring her bodily needs, trying to do too much and not giving herself time to rest and relax.

As you will read in the next chapter, Geri Halliwell is able to sufficiently detach herself from her own self-centered aims and desires to take an active interest in other people. Haliwell is actually quite social and frequently moderates her egocentric tendencies in order to accommodate others' viewpoints.
