Although George S. Patton expresses himself in a lighthearted, friendly and open manner (as mentioned in the previous chapter), at heart he is much more emotionally complex and intense than he appears. George harbors deeper feelings and a much "darker" side than is immediately apparent. He may be torn at times between keeping things light and playful versus exploring his own emotional depths and those of others. However, Patton's light airy side and his deep, mysterious side can balance one another: he can verbalize, reflect upon and consciously understand, explain and elucidate his deepest feelings. George S. Patton is a natural researcher and he probably loves mystery stories. His sense of humor can be his saving grace when he gets too serious.

Quiet, deep, emotionally complex and intensely private, he is not a person who is easy to get to know and understand. George S. Patton is extremely sensitive but disinclined to show it, and he only allows a special few into his inner world. Like a wary animal, he is cautious and mistrustful of those he does not know until "he sniffs them out". He is highly instinctive and intuitive. George S. Whatever he does, George does with passion and fervor, and he often goes to extremes. Patton can be hot or cold, but never lukewarm about anything. Patton can also be very narrow-minded: either he is 100% involved in something or it does not exist for him at all. Rarely is George S. Patton emotionally detached and objective. He definitely has a fanatical streak. He is also immensely strong-willed and his tenacity in pursuing his objectives often borders on obsession. He is filled with fierce pride, courage and emotional strength.

George S. Patton loves mysteries and is deeply attracted to the hidden, dark, secret side of life. George never takes things at face value and is always probing beneath the surface of people and situations to discover what is really going on. George S. Patton tends to be more of a cynic than an idealist.

His energies are directed to either perfecting his techniques, skills, and abilities in work, or in "perfecting", refining, and improving himself as a person. Critical analysis and attention to minute detail are intrinsic in either process. The urge to bring about a state of wholeness or optimal functioning is a strong motivation of George S. Patton's, and he is quite a perfectionist!

Patton can easily become overly identified or involved with the function he performs, with his work, or with his own health and "growth process".

Patton's subconscious needs and feelings blend well with his conscious intentions and desires, therefore George S. Patton is able to proceed in his life's pursuits relatively unhampered by internal resistance or inconsistency. George's male-female relationships will reflect this state of internal harmony also.

George S. Patton is extremely sensitive, compassionate and giving, often to his own detriment. His ideals and spiritual values motivate George S. Patton, and he cannot live for personal gain or materialistic concerns alone. There must be an element of beauty, magic, imagination, inspiration or creativity in what he does. Otherwise George S. Patton becomes listless and aimless. The arts, theater, music and/or charitable work are ideally suited to George.

He is somewhat excitable and quickly aroused. George S. Patton could be a little self-centered, but at the same time also magnetic. George likes to flirt and tends to fall in love at first sight, but he then transfers his affections to someone else for no apparent reason.
