Though Freddy Adu seems rather cautious and conservative (as discussed in the previous chapter), he has a much more playful, humorous side as well. Moreover, the combination of his attention to detail and cautious, circumspect approach to life, coupled with his youthful curiosity and quick mind makes Freddy mentally sharp, articulate and clever.

Freddy Adu is, in many ways, an eternal child. His mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and his attention span is often quite brief. Adu grasps ideas quickly and once his initial curiosity has been satisfied, he is ready to move on. Freddy Adu craves frequent change and variety, as well as new situations and people.

It may be hard for Freddy Adu to decide just where his talents and true vocation lie, for he has a multitude of interests and is loathe limiting himself by concentrating on just one. He is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. His curiosity and restlessness propel Freddy toward many different experiences in life, and he is willing to taste or try anything once. Doing the same thing over and over again, even if it is something he does well, is tantamount to drudgery for Adu.

Freddy Adu lives in his head a great deal - reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around - and he needs mental stimulation every bit as much as he needs food and drink. In fact, if Freddy had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, he would very likely choose the former. Freddy Adu has a creative mind and he often lives by his wits.

He is also a very social creature, with a strong need to communicate and interact with people. He enjoys using and playing with words and has a real flair for getting his ideas across in a clever, interesting, articulate manner. Writing and/or speaking are areas he has talent for.

Freddy Adu also has a rather lighthearted and mischievous sense of humor, and often does not take anything too seriously. Though he craves emotional involvement, it is hard for Freddy Adu to achieve it, for he is frequently unwilling to commit himself to anything, to take responsibility or to limit his personal freedom and mobility.

His happiness lies in using his creativity and language skills to communicate something meaningful, teach, inspire, or bring people together. Freddy has an unbiased mind and can usually offer a fresh, clear, uncluttered perspective. His faults are his lack of constancy and persistence, and his tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.

World travel, foreign cultures, and studies which expand his intellectual horizons and broaden his understanding of the world are very attractive to Adu.

Freddy Adu has a philosophical turn of mind and is concerned with seeking answers to the big questions of life or getting the overview of any situation. Abstract concepts and/or plans for the future occupy his mind much of the time.

He is blessed with abundant optimism, self-confidence and cheerful generosity. His good will and friendliness win him many allies. Freddy Adu also has grand visions and aspirations, and the desire to succeed in life in a big way. Freddy expects the best, and usually gets it.

However he also has a more somber side, which keeps Adu's optimism from becoming ungrounded or overblown. Freddy Adu tends to seesaw between his faith, vision and high aspirations, and his caution and realism (or fear!). He cannot and does not rely on good luck or grace alone, and he accepts the need for hard work. His skeptical or "somber" side is described below.

Freddy has to overcome considerable hardship in order to fulfill his personal destiny. However, he does have the strength and stamina necessary to do so. Support and helpful guidance from his father or other significant men in his life may well be lacking. In fact, their disapproval of Freddy and their harsh criticism are apt to be two of his greatest handicaps, and at times he may feel quite discouraged and alone. But true self-reliance and a solid sense of his own powers may well be the silver lining to that cloud in his life. Freddy Adu needs to learn to follow his own creative impulses and heart's desires, regardless of what his critics or the authorities say.

While he is realistic and conscientious (or overly conscientious), as described above, Freddy Adu also has an otherworldly, dreamy, or mystically-inclined side, as described below.

Freddy Adu tends to be very impressionable and psychically open, and as a youngster, he could have been dominated in his relationships with more forceful personalities. Afraid of confrontation, Adu may have become passive, identified himself as a helpless victim, or tried to gain his desires in underhanded ways.

Freddy's hypersensitivity to his environment is apt to be a challenge for him in other ways as well. Pollutants, ugliness, or dissonance in any form is apt to affect Freddy Adu more than most people.

He is apt to be a fanatic in some way, and cannot go halfway in anything he does. His extremism may seem (and actually be) obsessive and somewhat blind. That is, Freddy Adu does not always consciously understand why he feels as driven or intense about a given course of action as he does. There is a strong element of fate or inevitability in Adu's life. A significant death or loss in his close relationships is apt to profoundly influence Freddy Adu and shape important decisions in his life, and he may consciously seek out intense, life-or-death experiences as well.

Freddy has artistic talents and interests and appreciates art in many forms. Freddy Adu could become an actor and he has good judgment of the real value of things. Adu has an affectionate nature with a cheerful disposition and strong feelings of love.

Adu always seems to find the right words to verbalize his feelings, especially in regard to love and friendship. Freddy Adu also has a keen sense of beauty and he probably appreciates art, music or poetry.

Adu has a strong will and great determination and is willing to work hard to reach his goals. Freddy Adu often takes on more than his share and labors untiringly, sparing himself no pain in his work. Freddy should guard against over-exerting himself physically.

Freddy Adu has a sensitive physique, is impressionable and prone to external influences. Freddy should guard against the tendency to escape through drugs, alcohol etc. His imagination is very vivid and Adu is likely to dream of big things.
