Behind Tracy's rather pragmatic, hardheaded exterior (mentioned in the previous chapter), he is an adventurer and a risk-taker at heart. His cool, conservative manner masks a much more fiery core.

He is a person who thrives on challenge, and he often feels that he must battle his way through life, relying on no one and nothing but his own strength, intelligence and courage. Spencer Tracy believes in being totally honest, true to himself and his own vision and convictions, even if it means standing alone.
