Because Richard Pryor seems to be such a gentle, tolerant, accepting person (as mentioned in the previous chapter), he can startle people with some of his very pointed, bluntly honest statements. Even though he is sensitive and empathetic, he can also be quite tactless at times. His good will and good intentions, however, usually prevail. With Pryor's free-flowing imagination (described earlier) and his great restlessness (discussed below), he is apt to be a wanderer, and perhaps somewhat of an escapist.

He is a gambler and an adventurer at heart, one who loves to take risks, to discover and explore new worlds, and to travel the untried path rather than the safe, reliable one. He is independent, freedom loving, and often very restless. He needs a lifestyle that provides opportunities for travel, movement, change, and meeting new people. A steady routine, which offers much in the way of security but little in the way of space and freedom, is odious to him.

To Richard Pryor, life is a journey and an adventure that is endlessly interesting and rich with possibilities, and it may be difficult for him to decide where to focus his attention and efforts. But true self-reliance and a solid sense of his own powers may well be the silver lining to that cloud in his life. Richard Pryor needs to learn to follow his own creative impulses and heart's desires, regardless of what his critics or the authorities may say.

Richard has artistic talents and interests and appreciates art in many forms. Richard Pryor could become an actor and he has good judgment of the real value of things. Pryor has an affectionate nature with a cheerful disposition and strong feelings of love.

He is strong-willed, forceful and independent. Pryor knows what he wants, but sometimes may act too impulsively, causing quarrels or disagreement with others. Richard Pryor tends to judge himself and others quite severely, but he is very sincere, honest and trustworthy.
