Ray Davies motivation
Even though Ray Davies comes across as headstrong and independent (as mentioned in the previous chapter), he is not a loner. As the following paragraphs describe, he is really a very social and gregarious creature at heart. Communication is very important to him, but Davies often speaks too forcefully and he may not be as good a listener as he is a speaker. Moreover, Ray Davies should be careful not to let his fast-paced life cause him to become high-strung and nervous.
Ray Davies is, in many ways, an eternal child. His mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and his attention span is often quite brief. Davies grasps ideas quickly and once his initial curiosity has been satisfied, he is ready to move on. Ray Davies craves frequent change and variety, as well as new situations and people.
It may be hard for Ray Davies to decide just where his talents and true vocation lie, for he has a multitude of interests and is loathe limiting himself by concentrating on just one. He is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. His curiosity and restlessness propel Ray toward many different experiences in life, and he is willing to taste or try anything once. Doing the same thing over and over again, even if it is something he does well, is tantamount to drudgery for Davies.
Ray Davies lives in his head a great deal - reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around - and he needs mental stimulation every bit as much as he needs food and drink. In fact, if Ray had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, he would very likely choose the former. Ray Davies has a creative mind and he often lives by his wits.
He is also a very social creature, with a strong need to communicate and interact with people. He enjoys using and playing with words and has a real flair for getting his ideas across in a clever, interesting, articulate manner. Writing and/or speaking are areas he has talent for.
Ray Davies also has a rather lighthearted and mischievous sense of humor, and often does not take anything too seriously. Though he craves emotional involvement, it is hard for Ray Davies to achieve it, for he is frequently unwilling to commit himself to anything, to take responsibility or to limit his personal freedom and mobility.
His happiness lies in using his creativity and language skills to communicate something meaningful, teach, inspire, or bring people together. Ray has an unbiased mind and can usually offer a fresh, clear, uncluttered perspective. His faults are his lack of constancy and persistence, and his tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.
The urge to learn and communicate is essential to Ray Davies, and he expresses himself very well through writing, teaching or sharing ideas and information. Davies is persuasive and fluent with language.
Restless and inquisitive, Ray enjoys being mobile and taking short trips and excursions in order to see for himself what is going on in the world around him.
The above description of Ray Davies is so deeply ingrained that he has little objectivity and often little appreciation for other, different ways of approaching life. Ray Davies tends to be one-sided. There is little ambiguity in his makeup and he generally knows what he wants and what will make him happy.
Ray Davies is loving and well loved by others, and has a strong need for relationships that offer kindness, friendship and affection. His artistic and creative powers are also well developed and Ray does everything in a harmonious, gracious, pleasing manner. Aesthetics are very important to Davies, as are his personal appearance and attractiveness.
While Ray Davies deeply appreciates beauty and has a great desire for love, he is in no way frivolous or indiscriminate in his affections. Davies can be very frugal and sparing with both money and emotions.
Ray Davies has a mature and often somber demeanor. He is serious, reserved, self-disciplined, highly responsible and conscientious. He progresses rather slowly in life, through his own efforts and persistence. He is also rather stern and judgmental, especially with himself. Cautious and careful, it is difficult for him to really let go, be spontaneous and playful. Ray likes to be in control of himself.
While he is realistic and conscientious (or overly conscientious), as described above, Ray Davies also has an otherworldly, dreamy, or mystically-inclined side, as described below.
Ray is extremely sensitive and imaginative, and he can get lost in his dreams, fantasies and visions. He is attracted to artistic and creative pursuits, as well as to the world of color, beauty, and emotion. Ray Davies is also drawn to mysticism and he has deep spiritual aspirations and yearnings. Gentle and peace loving, Davies may lack the will and competitive spirit needed to make his way in the world. He is often impractical and may seek to avoid or escape the harsh realities of life.
Ray has artistic talents and interests and appreciates art in many forms. Ray Davies could become an actor and he has good judgment of the real value of things. Davies has an affectionate nature with a cheerful disposition and strong feelings of love.
Ray Davies has a great need for security which he may seek in a partner who could be older than him and perhaps married before. Ray Davies probably feels restrained in expressing affection, giving the impression of being cool and indifferent toward those he loves.
