Though Finch may seem breezy, independent and freedom loving (as mentioned in the previous chapter), he is in fact not completely happy without a partner. He enjoys being on the move and exploring new territory, but wants a traveling companion! Finch yearns for fulfilling, yet non-restricting relationships.

Harmony and balance are his keynotes. Peter Finch instinctively understands the need to accommodate other people's interests and desires, and he is always fair and willing to meet others half way. Tactful, diplomatic, and quite socially aware, Peter does all he can to avoid conflict and discord. His spirit is one of cooperation and compromise, and he often achieves through charm and discretion what would have been impossible to achieve with a direct, forceful approach.
