Paul R. Ehrlich challenges and difficulties
Paul has an innate distrust of groups and/or a cynical attitude toward society that may leave him feeling out of step and unable to participate in activities with his peers. Overcoming a sense of aloofness and alienation from others is an important task for Ehrlich.
Paul Ehrlich has a mature, disciplined, serious attitude toward life which colors everything he does. Caution and realism are his virtues though Paul limits himself at times by being too careful, shy, or fearful, and not believing in himself enough or being assertive when necessary. Others find Paul Ehrlich difficult to get to know intimately, as Ehrlich tends to distance himself from them or to put forth a rather stern, "adult" face to the world.
At times Paul Ehrlich struggles with nebulous worries and insecurities, fears which may be difficult to name. Mostly, he may be afraid of getting acquainted with the inner workings of his mind and soul, feeling uneasy with anything irrational or intangible. Paul Ehrlich has to work hard to overcome being overly serious regarding the spiritual side of life, especially if his religious upbringing emphasized guilt and retribution. Reorienting himself in the direction of spiritual optimism will do much to lift the cloud of worry that settles over Paul occasionally.
Paul Ehrlich tends to be somewhat gloomy and may feel that life is difficult and that his will is blocked in some way. Paul could find it hard to make decisions and to concentrate on his goals and may consider them not worthwhile.
At times circumstances seem to be pushing against Paul, and he may have to withstand severe challenges. Paul Ehrlich will probably have to work harder than others in order to succeed, turning him hard and cold hearted in his decisions because of it.
Now we will discuss patterns of behavior which Paul Ehrlich instinctively and habitually reverts to when under stress - a mostly subconscious process that he is apt to over indulge in because it is so familiar and hence easy for him. The direction Paul Ehrlich needs to follow in order to develop balance, greater awareness, and wholeness is also described.
Cultivating the qualities of empathy, gentleness, and compassion will help counterbalance Ehrlich's deeply ingrained perfectionism and critical nature. When under stress, he is apt to try to rigorously analyze and focus on what needs to be corrected or improved, and he can easily become problem-oriented and lose sight of the big picture.
Paul Ehrlich has to learn to relax and surrender to the flow of events without having to figure everything out all the time. He should let his feelings and intuitions flow more freely, be more flexible and fluid, use his imagination and let his dreams emerge!
It is in his dealings with money, financial security, tangible assets and possessions that he is most likely to wrestle with these issues. The qualities described above are ones Paul Ehrlich needs to integrate in tangible ways: how he makes a living, building assets and a secure material base, what he does with the resources he has. Paul Ehrlich should try to avoid over involvement or entanglements with other people's money matters, legal business, and personal affairs.
Paul Ehrlich tends to associate with weak or negative people and is inclined to find most of his relationships rather unfulfilling. Feeling like an outsider, Ehrlich gets the impression that others try to restrain him.
Paul Ehrlich has a very engaging manner in the company of others and his relationships with other people are likely to be harmonious. Some of his connections may prove to be helpful to Paul with his plans.
