Though Paul Lynde cares very much about his dignity and the way he is perceived by others (as described on the previous page), he has a very mischievous, playful side that pokes fun of anyone who takes himself too seriously (including himself!). Also, though his great loyalty was highlighted in the previous chapter, fortunately he is also flexible and playful, so he does not allow his commitments to become too burdensome.

Paul Lynde is, in many ways, an eternal child. His mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and his attention span is often quite brief. Lynde grasps ideas quickly and once his initial curiosity has been satisfied, he is ready to move on. Paul Lynde craves frequent change and variety, as well as new situations and people.

It may be hard for Paul Lynde to decide just where his talents and true vocation lie, for he has a multitude of interests and is loathe limiting himself by concentrating on just one. He is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. His curiosity and restlessness propel Paul toward many different experiences in life, and he is willing to taste or try anything once. Doing the same thing over and over again, even if it is something he does well, is tantamount to drudgery for Lynde.

Paul Lynde lives in his head a great deal - reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around - and he needs mental stimulation every bit as much as he needs food and drink. In fact, if Paul had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, he would very likely choose the former. Paul Lynde has a creative mind and he often lives by his wits.

He is also a very social creature, with a strong need to communicate and interact with people. He enjoys using and playing with words and has a real flair for getting his ideas across in a clever, interesting, articulate manner. Writing and/or speaking are areas he has talent for.

Paul Lynde also has a rather lighthearted and mischievous sense of humor, and often does not take anything too seriously. Though he craves emotional involvement, it is hard for Paul Lynde to achieve it, for he is frequently unwilling to commit himself to anything, to take responsibility or to limit his personal freedom and mobility.

His happiness lies in using his creativity and language skills to communicate something meaningful, teach, inspire, or bring people together. Paul has an unbiased mind and can usually offer a fresh, clear, uncluttered perspective. His faults are his lack of constancy and persistence, and his tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.

Leading groups and classes and being involved in community efforts, social activities, events or movements are areas where Paul Lynde really shines and expresses his creativity. An awareness of politics or the larger social impact of individual actions comes naturally to him.

Paul has to overcome considerable hardship in order to fulfill his personal destiny. However, he has the strength and stamina necessary to do so. Support and helpful guidance from his father or other significant men in his life may well be lacking. In fact, their disapproval of Paul and their harsh criticism are apt to be two of his greatest handicaps, and at times he may feel quite discouraged and alone. But true self-reliance and a solid sense of his own powers may well be the silver lining to that cloud in his life. Paul Lynde needs to learn to follow his own creative impulses and heart's desires, regardless of what his critics or the authorities may say.

While he is realistic and conscientious (or overly conscientious), as described above, Paul Lynde also has an otherworldly, dreamy, or mystically-inclined side, as described below.

He is very open and receptive to the spiritual, intangible, and subtle realms, and can easily receive or give conscious guidance based on his inner attunement. Paul Lynde takes many things for granted, such as the existence of an afterlife or the effects of subtle influences like aromatherapy, spiritual healing, etc. These things seem obvious to Paul, whereas to many people they are a matter of conjecture or even illusory. Paul Lynde may not realize he has spiritual gifts because they come so naturally to him.

Paul Lynde has a harmonious and graceful manner along with an appreciation of beautiful, perhaps even artistically furnished surroundings. Paul may be quite attractive and he is likely to make a favorable impression on everyone.

It could be hard for Paul Lynde to face up to his mistakes because of his insecurity and self-doubt. His early years may have been undermined by poor relationships with one or both of his parents who may have been ill, weak or alcoholic.
