Though Meredith Baxter cares very much about her dignity and the way she is perceived by others (as described on the previous page), she has a very mischievous, playful side that pokes fun of anyone who takes herself too seriously (including herself!). Also, though her great loyalty was highlighted in the previous chapter, fortunately she is also flexible and playful, so she does not allow her commitments to become too burdensome.

Meredith Baxter is, in many ways, an eternal child. Her mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and her attention span is often quite brief. Baxter grasps ideas quickly and once her initial curiosity has been satisfied, she is ready to move on. Meredith Baxter craves frequent change and variety, as well as new situations and people.

It may be hard for Meredith Baxter to decide just where her talents and true vocation lie, for she has a multitude of interests and is loathe limiting herself by concentrating on just one. She is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. Her faults are her lack of constancy and persistence, and her tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.

Leading groups and classes and being involved in community efforts, social activities, events or movements are areas where Meredith Baxter really shines and expresses her creativity. An awareness of politics or the larger social impact of individual actions comes naturally to her.

Meredith Baxter has a strong need for intellectual relationships and associations and she likes to share her intellectual interests with others. This could be in meetings or by joining various clubs and organizations.

Baxter alternates between aggression and apathy and sometimes feels that she is unable to meet all the demands made on her. Once Meredith Baxter becomes aware of what she needs to do, however, she is capable of working long and hard, not giving up until her work is done.
