Margaret Mead motivation
Although Margaret Mead seems rather serious and conservative (as mentioned in the previous chapter), she has a very idealistic soul, as described below. She may feel that she is always getting in her own way, holding herself in check even when she really wants to take off and soar. Her cautious, pragmatic attitude can help balance her tendency to be overly optimistic and to occasionally go overboard. Her enterprising nature, combined with her circumspect and prudent outlook on life, could help Margaret Mead be very successful in business.
She is a gambler and an adventurer at heart, one who loves to take risks, to discover and explore new worlds, and to travel the untried path rather than the safe, reliable one. She is independent, freedom loving, and often very restless. She needs a lifestyle that provides opportunities for travel, movement, change, and meeting new people. A steady routine, which offers much in the way of security but little in the way of space and freedom, is odious to her.
To Margaret Mead, life is a journey and an adventure that is endlessly interesting and rich with possibilities, and it may be difficult for her to decide where to focus her attention and efforts. Margaret Mead probably traveled around and experimented with many different paths before she settled on a particular career. Or she may go from one project to the next, for once the challenge and vital interest is gone, she is very quick to move on. Commitment, discipline, focus and concentration are not her strong points. Mead can be irresponsible and disinclined to take on the burdens and limitations of adult life.
An incurable optimist, she has big dreams, aspirations and hopes for the future and is usually engaged in pursuing a far-off goal. Margaret Mead has a great deal of faith and trust in life and failures do not crush her spirit. Mead always bounces back from disappointments, often with another bright dream or scheme. Margaret Mead has a sporting, playful attitude toward life and she is philosophical about her mistakes. Margaret has the ability to sense future trends, to see the big picture, and she likes to theorize and speculate. However, she gets annoyed with all the details and practical requirements required to implement her theories.
Mead expresses herself in a very open, direct and straightforward manner and is often blunt and tactless as well. Because she does not take herself too seriously, she may not realize how deeply her candid statements can wound more sensitive souls. In fact, though she may not realize it, Margaret's insensitivity and lack of understanding regarding others' feelings is probably one of her worst faults.
Margaret Mead enjoys being in close relationships but also needs freedom and she does not do well with a possessive, clinging, or emotionally demanding partner. She is quite generous, and heartily dislikes pettiness in others. Someone who shares her ideals, her sense of fun and her zest for life would be the right companion for Mead.
Leading groups and classes, and being involved in community efforts, social activities, events or movements are areas where Margaret Mead really shines and expresses her creativity. An awareness of politics or the larger social impact of individual actions is natural to her.
Mead's subconscious needs and feelings blend well with her conscious intentions and desires, therefore Margaret Mead is able to proceed in her life's pursuits relatively unhampered by internal resistance or inconsistency. Margaret's male-female relationships will reflect this state of internal harmony also.
Innovative, original, unorthodox and unconventional, she identifies with the role of a rebel, reformer or iconoclast. Margaret Mead insists upon a great deal of personal freedom and does not easily adapt to others' needs and wishes. Margaret needs a lifestyle that allows her to be spontaneous. She often feels that she is somehow different from other people and outside of society's mainstream.
Margaret Mead has a sensitive physique, is impressionable and prone to external influences. Margaret should guard against the tendency to escape through drugs, alcohol etc. Her imagination is very vivid and Mead is likely to dream of big things.
