Kara Walker's appearance and the way she comes across to others (as described on the previous page) are very congruent with her true nature (described below). She is very idealistic, and a great lover of space and freedom.

She is a gambler and an adventurer at heart, one who loves to take risks, to discover and explore new worlds, and to travel the untried path rather than the safe, reliable one. She is independent, freedom loving, and often very restless. She needs a lifestyle that provides opportunities for travel, movement, change, and meeting new people. A steady routine, which offers much in the way of security but little in the way of space and freedom, is odious to her.

To Kara Walker, life is a journey and an adventure that is endlessly interesting and rich with possibilities, and it may be difficult for her to decide where to focus her attention and efforts. Kara Walker probably traveled around and experimented with many different paths before she settled on a particular career. Or she may go from one project to the next, for once the challenge and vital interest is gone, she is very quick to move on. Commitment, discipline, focus and concentration are not her strong points. Walker can be irresponsible and disinclined to take on the burdens and limitations of adult life.

An incurable optimist, she has big dreams, aspirations and hopes for the future and is usually engaged in pursuing a far-off goal. Kara Walker has a great deal of faith and trust in life and failures do not crush her spirit. Walker always bounces back from disappointments, often with another bright dream or scheme. Kara Walker has a sporting, playful attitude toward life and she is philosophical about her mistakes. Kara has the ability to sense future trends, to see the big picture, and she likes to theorize and speculate. However, she gets annoyed with all the details and practical requirements required to implement her theories.

Walker expresses herself in a very open, direct and straightforward manner and is often blunt and tactless as well. Because she does not take herself too seriously, she may not realize how deeply her candid statements can wound more sensitive souls. In fact, though she may not realize it, Kara's insensitivity and lack of understanding regarding others' feelings is probably one of her worst faults.

Kara Walker enjoys being in close relationships but also needs freedom and she does not do well with a possessive, clinging, or emotionally demanding partner. She is quite generous, and heartily dislikes pettiness in others. Someone who shares her ideals, her sense of fun and her zest for life would be the right companion for Walker.

Walker is very attracted to world travel, foreign cultures and studies that expand her intellectual horizons and broaden her understanding of the world.

Kara Walker is philosophically inclined and concerned with seeking answers to the big questions of life or getting an overall picture of any situation. Abstract concepts and/or plans for the future occupy her mind much of the time.

Kara Walker tends to see things from her perspective only and to be rather subjective. She also enjoys talking and expressing her views but does not always listen as well. Kara Walker has a clear mind, a love of learning and new experiences, and she needs constant mental stimulation and activity.

There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Kara Walker between her conscious attitudes and aspirations and her deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Kara may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with her subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in her body may well be a signal that Kara Walker is denying or suppressing the messages from her subconscious or emotional self.

Ideally, Kara Walker will learn to accept and express these two different sides of herself. Should she fail to do so, Walker is likely to be drawn into many relationships with people who reflect her denied or repressed qualities and seem to make her life difficult. Kara has to overcome considerable hardship in order to fulfill her personal destiny. However, she has the strength and stamina necessary to do so. Support and helpful guidance from her father or other significant men in her life may well be lacking. In fact, their disapproval of Kara and their harsh criticism are apt to be two of her greatest handicaps, and at times she may feel quite discouraged and alone. But true self-reliance and a solid sense of her own powers may well be the silver lining to that cloud in her life. Kara Walker needs to learn to follow her own creative impulses and heart's desires, regardless of what her critics or the authorities may say.

Although she takes herself and her responsibilities seriously, there is also a part of Kara Walker that rebels against rules and restrictions and the need to contend with outside authority. Walker can feel torn between conforming to the rules or fulfilling her obligations, and breaking free of them. Her wilder side will now be described.

She is an original! Kara Walker radiates a sort of electrical excitement about the things she is interested in, and conveys this to others, but she also gets bored rather quickly. Kara does not mind being a bit unusual or breaking a few rules either.

While she is realistic and conscientious (or overly conscientious), as described above, Kara Walker also has an otherworldly, dreamy, or mystically-inclined side, as described below.

Sensitive and imaginative, she is attracted to artistic and creative pursuits and to mysticism. Kara Walker is impressionable and receptive, and often has experiences that are unusual and unexplainable by the rational mind. Kara has an abundance of dreams, visions and longings, but does not always have the concentrated will and stamina to make them materialize. Gentle, idealistic and peace loving, Kara often seeks to avoid the harsh realities of life. Kara has an ethereal quality about her.

She keeps her feelings well under control, but is inclined to feel inferior and insecure. Walker displays a cool and reserved manner and tries to hide her inner discontentment. Kara Walker also has a tendency to cling to the past.

She is very receptive and sensitive but has a tendency to over-idealize, making her approach to love relationships, romance or marriage somewhat unrealistic. Kara Walker also tends to be a bit absent-minded and naive, leaving herself open for being taken, swindled or lied to.
