John Doe motivation
Behind John Duchac's rather lighthearted, witty and restless demeanor described in the previous chapter, lies a sensitive, poetic soul. John Doe may cover up his sensitivity with light banter and cleverness - or he may use his verbal and communication skills to express his imagination, kindness and refined sensitivity.
At heart he is very gentle, impressionable and receptive - a dreamer. The world of his imagination, feelings, and intuition is as real to John Doe as anything in the outer world, though he may have trouble verbalizing or interpreting his inner experiences in a way others can understand. Mystical, artistic, musical, emotional and imaginative, he has a rich inner life, though John Duchac may seem rather unobtrusive and quiet outwardly. John Doe usually keeps to himself.
John Doe shows great sensitivity and empathy toward others and often senses things psychically or intuitively which prove to be correct. He is tolerant, forgiving and nonjudgmental, accepting people unconditionally regardless of their flaws, mistakes, or outward appearance. John Doe has deep compassion for the suffering of any fellow creature and he often feels the pain of others as if it were his own. John Doe sympathizes with the needy, the disadvantaged and the misfits of society. He is capable of giving selflessly, living a life of devoted and compassionate service to others, as a healer, physician, social worker or minister. However, John Duchac tends to give indiscriminately, to let others take advantage of his kindness, and to encourage the weak to remain so by becoming dependent upon him. John Doe has little sense of boundaries, or of knowing when to say "no". Moderation and self-discipline are not his strong points.
He is a lover and a peacemaker rather than a fighter, and he tries to avoid open conflict. John Duchac will patiently ignore or "tune out" problems and hope they will go away by themselves, rather than confront them directly and John Duchac tends to lack the positive, fighting spirit that is sometimes necessary to overcome challenges. He is fluid, open, nonresistant and somewhat passive. John Doe does things in a subtle, often covert, manner.
His gifts may also lie in the realm of the creative, artistic, or musical, for he possesses great sensitivity, inspiration and limitless imagination. John Doe has a strong affinity for beauty and love.
His faults include a tendency to be lazy and negligent, and to wallow in self-pity rather than take strong, definite action to change his life for the better. He also tends to become so detached from his immediate environment that he lives in a disorderly, chaotic sort of hodgepodge, though this probably bothers those around John Duchac more than it bothers him.
His career, reputation, and public image are very important to John Duchac. John Doe has a strong desire to be influential or make his mark on the world. The merely personal sphere does not satisfy him; his ambitions include making a major contribution and receiving broad recognition for his unique effort and gifts. John Doe may undervalue the personal or inner side of life.
John Doe is loving and well loved by others, and has a strong need for relationships that offer kindness, friendship and affection. His artistic and creative powers are also well developed and John Doe does everything in a harmonious, gracious, pleasing manner. Aesthetics are very important to John Duchac, as are his personal appearance and attractiveness.
John Doe often feels that he is at cross purposes with himself, for his conscious intentions and desires conflict with his subconscious emotional needs and drives. He is torn in two different directions. John Doe has difficulty satisfying both his need to be an individual and his need for caring relationships and a sense of belonging. Moreover, John Doe sends out mixed messages so people do not always know how to respond to him or what John Doe really wants, thereby creating confusion or conflict in close relationships.
Although John Doe prefers harmony and accord, he also has a confrontational side.
He is direct, energetic, sometimes aggressive and combative. John Doe often feels that he needs to fight to get what he wants, and he tends to have a "me-first" attitude that angers or irritates others. He is hasty, restless, impatient and sometimes reckless.
While John Doe deeply appreciates beauty and has a great desire for love, he is in no way frivolous or indiscriminate in his affections. John Duchac can be very frugal and sparing with both money and emotions.
While John Doe does have a strong drive, he frequently holds himself back. One of his challenges lies in learning to endure frustration and to patiently overcome the obstacles in his life (or his own internal caution and resistance!).
Realistic and practical, John Doe sets goals for himself that are modest enough for him to actually achieve. He is able to tackle long, difficult projects and see them through, for John Duchac possesses self-discipline, concentration and perseverance. John Doe also has a strong sense of responsibility and is very conscientious about fulfilling his obligations. John Duchac often does things because he feels it is expected of him.
His physique tends to be sensitive and his vitality may be a bit low. John Doe is very impressionable and somewhat unrealistic. Sometimes his idealism could be confused or impractical, and John Duchac can be rebellious or else apathetic.
