John DeLorean drive and ambition
John DeLorean has a warrior's attitude - decisive, courageous, and bold. John tends to always crave action, even when waiting for an opportune moment or not doing anything at all would actually be effective in the long-term. He absolutely cannot tolerate being passive or even patient about getting what he wants. John DeLorean feels that it is up to him to take the initiative and he pursues his goal or desire very aggressively.
He is also self-reliant, in that he does not depend on others to do things for him or help him along, and John DeLorean is often irritated when other people offer advice or direction. Cooperation rarely comes easily to him. He is willful and can be quite oblivious to others' desires or feelings when he is pursuing something he wants. He is highly competitive, enjoys a challenge or a good fight, and may be downright pugnacious at times. Abounding in energy and enthusiasm at the start of a new venture, John DeLorean needs a very positive response and encouragement in order to sustain his interest throughout. If a project is not successful from the start, he is liable to drop it and move on to something else rather than rework or refine it. He has a strong desire to blaze new trails and put his own twist to things. DeLorean can discover, invent and initiate new things, but he is impatient and may lack the stamina and perseverance needed see a long-term project through.
Asserting himself and being direct and forceful about what he wants is often very difficult for John. Though he may have a great deal of energy and drive, John DeLorean lacks confidence or simply the desire to put himself and his interests first. On the positive side, DeLorean can be very unselfish, working more for the benefit of others than for himself.
However, John DeLorean denies his own desires and needs too much, and he is likely to secretly become very angry, which will sabotage his finest efforts.
DeLorean frequently meets a tremendous amount of resistance whenever he wants to assert himself in a decisive way or do something just for himself. This resistance stems from within (in the form of self-doubt, fear, or a heavy sense of responsibility toward others), as well as from practical and circumstantial limitations. Especially when initiating a project or acting independently, John DeLorean may tell himself that he is not really prepared, or that he is not good enough (yet), and he puts a lot of pressure on himself. Despite the obstacles, setbacks or lack of support he encounters, John DeLorean can accomplish a great deal with patience and perseverance. However, he is apt to aim too low and not realize how much he is truly capable of.
John DeLorean should try to recognize that he does not have to justify his existence or prove his worth through his accomplishments.
John DeLorean has a powerful will and when he wants something, he pursues it passionately and relentlessly until he achieves it. He may be so driven by his desire that he loses all objectivity. John DeLorean often becomes compulsive, even obsessed, with doing or achieving something, no matter what the costs or how hard he must work for it. His forcefulness may be veiled or subtle, for often DeLorean does not reveal his real aims and intentions to others until they cross him. Intense power struggles and relationships with a strong dominance/submissiveness theme are likely to erupt. John DeLorean has enormous energy reserves, and is capable of extraordinary effort and great achievement if he uses his energies for constructive purposes.
John DeLorean has a strong need to gain power and he tends to dominate or manipulate other people. But in his push for success, power struggles could also thwart DeLorean's efforts and he could become the victim of someone else having control over him.
DeLorean dedicates himself wholeheartedly to a cause, makes a great deal of sacrifices and does away with superfluous activities and interests. Others find his approach too severe and are unwilling to go along with John DeLorean under the difficult circumstances that he is willing to tolerate. His determination and capacity for self-denial often help DeLorean get through the rough spots and achieve the goal he is aiming for.
John has noble aspirations and grand plans for himself. Combining personal goals with humanitarian concerns, philanthropy and an interest in social betterment, John DeLorean is likely to be quite successful and influential in his community. He is suited to expansive, lucrative enterprises.
DeLorean is intensely competitive and may engage in furious battles of will, numerous conflicts, and possible public controversy on the road toward meeting his objectives. John DeLorean may be drawn to activities that are dangerous - in the line of fire, so to speak. He puts himself on the line. Anger or recklessness could be his downfall.
Often John DeLorean feels like he is being pulled in two directions - what he needs to do to fulfill his long-range ambitions, and what he actually feels like doing. This may make it difficult for John to be constant and consistent in pursuing goals, career aims, etc.
Relationships with women, trying to satisfy family needs, or other emotional attachments sometimes also conflict. Often John DeLorean has to decide on one or another at a given time, rather than try to have both.
John has confidence in himself and a healthy self-assured attitude. He makes up his own mind and has a clear idea of where he is headed. John DeLorean does not feel the need for recognition from others, but is likely to receive recognition anyway.
