Harry Houdini drive and ambition
Once Harry Houdini sets his mind on a goal, his dedication, determination, and commitment are extraordinary. Houdini pursues his ambitions tenaciously and will stubbornly refuse to give up, let go, or be influenced in any way. Like Aesop's tortoise, Harry labors patiently and steadfastly until he achieves what he wants - or until it is clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that all is lost. He is a reliable, consistent and productive worker, and he often shoulders more of the workload than his co-workers, usually without complaint. He often ends up with the nitty-gritty work. He prefers a regular routine, with definite hours and clearly defined responsibilities and tasks. In fact, establishing a pattern or routine is very important to his success because once he gets started in a certain direction, it is easy for Harry Houdini to kept to that path. Getting started is more difficult. Harry Houdini has a lazy, comfort-loving side and there is often a good deal of inertia for him to overcome before Houdini gets going; but once he gets a momentum going, his energy level is strong and steady.
He is interested in concrete results and solid, practical achievements. Harry Houdini needs to have some tangible product or contribution to show for his efforts, and cannot be content with only intangible rewards (such as having a good time, learning, or spiritual enrichment). Material well-being and security is also a large factor in determining what he does. Harry's stamina and persistence are his greatest assets, but they can also work against him; he can get caught in a rut and refuse to seize new opportunities. Harry Houdini also tends to play it safe, and to limit himself as a result.
Harry Houdini often buys things on impulse and he can be reckless with his material resources and money. Harry has certain possessions that he is extremely attached to and possessive of.
Harry Houdini works hard and patiently to achieve his objectives and perseveres in spite of difficulties and discouragement. When concentrating on a single, clearly defined goal, Harry is able to accomplish a great deal, but he often feels that the path is long and arduous, and that he must struggle on alone and shoulder the burden single-handedly.
He is capable of great self-control and self-denial and can be a hard taskmaster, expecting far too much of himself. He also tends to hold himself back and doubt his own power and ability. Harry Houdini feels that he meets with great resistance whenever he tries to assert himself or take initiative. Anger and frustration can be big problems for Harry Houdini, especially when he tries to work with other people or depend too much on others for support. Harry works best in solitude.
Although he is patient and steady when pursuing an objective, when Harry Houdini finally loses patience he loses it completely! In addition to having great tenacity and perseverance, Harry has a daring and rebellious side as well:
Intensely restless, dynamic and energetic, he is always on the go. When Harry Houdini wants something, he wants it NOW, and he acts decisively and impulsively, albeit sometimes hastily and prematurely. Impatient, high-strung, and often nervous and tense, Harry finds it difficult to slow down, pace himself or relax. He is fiercely individualistic and independent, self-willed and intolerant of restraints and restrictions imposed by others. Harry Houdini has a reckless disregard for authority and can be extremely rebellious. Cooperating with others is not Houdini's strong point! He is often brutally frank and abrupt with people, and can be quite impersonal when he is pursuing a desired goal. He may demonstrate an explosive temper when his will is blocked. Harry Houdini has a superabundance of energy and he needs a great deal of personal freedom to do things in his own style and at his own pace.
He may be able to sustain a great deal of tension over a long period of time, but then Harry Houdini suddenly releases it by taking unexpected and very radical actions. Houdini is not above challenging others for a decisive fight!
His energy may be a bit low and Houdini does not seem to have enough stamina to resist external powers. Harry Houdini could easily be used as a medium, or someone else may set him up as a tool to further their interests without Harry knowing what is really going on.
Happiness and fulfillment in Harry's career are likely because he gives his all to it and will not make the sorts of compromises that others feel compelled to make in order to succeed. Self-expression and being his own person are very important to Houdini.
Harry Houdini's father or another important man in his life is likely to be of tremendous help to him. His relationships with superiors and those in a position to boost his career are usually excellent.
Harry Houdini achieves his professional goals and long-range ambitions through self-discipline, concentration, and climbing the mountain one step at a time. Unlike the lucky few for whom all doors seem to magically open, Harry has to devise a realistic plan and keep to it diligently in order to succeed. Harry Houdini will have to pay his dues and endure a few setbacks. Patience is his ally.
His father or grandfather probably influenced Houdini's choice of career, and will back him up - as long as Harry chooses to follow in their footsteps.
He enjoys life, is original and likes to be admired. Harry Houdini loves to go out and is always looking for new social contacts and relationships. It does not take Houdini long to like someone and he is likely to have many adventurous love affairs.
