Although Gus Grissom initially appears to be the essence of tact and diplomacy (as described on the previous page), he is not as gentle and peace loving as he may seem. Although Gus Grissom prefers harmony, he is willing to fight or aggressively pursue his own interest if need be. People who get to know Gus more than just superficially realize there is much more to him than his exterior coat of charm.

He may be at odds with himself at times because he has both a strong urge for togetherness and a powerful yearning for independence.
