Dean Martin drive and ambition
Once Dean Martin sets his mind on a goal, his dedication, determination, and commitment are extraordinary. Martin pursues his ambitions tenaciously and will stubbornly refuse to give up, let go, or be influenced in any way. Like Aesop's tortoise, Dean labors patiently and steadfastly until he achieves what he wants - or until it is clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that all is lost. He is a reliable, consistent and productive worker, and he often shoulders more of the workload than his co-workers, usually without complaint. He often ends up with the nitty-gritty work. He prefers a regular routine, with definite hours and clearly defined responsibilities and tasks. In fact, establishing a pattern or routine is very important to his success because once he gets started in a certain direction, it is easy for Dean Martin to kept to that path. Getting started is more difficult. Dean Martin has a lazy, comfort-loving side and there is often a good deal of inertia for him to overcome before Martin gets going; but once he gets a momentum going, his energy level is strong and steady.
He is interested in concrete results and solid, practical achievements. Dean Martin needs to have some tangible product or contribution to show for his efforts, and cannot be content with only intangible rewards (such as having a good time, learning, or spiritual enrichment). Material well-being and security is also a large factor in determining what he does. Dean's stamina and persistence are his greatest assets, but they can also work against him; he can get caught in a rut and refuse to seize new opportunities. Dean Martin also tends to play it safe, and to limit himself as a result.
Dean Martin often buys things on impulse and he can be reckless with his material resources and money. Dean has certain possessions that he is extremely attached to and possessive of.
Dean Martin has a positive, "can-do" attitude and he tackles life's challenges with relish. He is self-confident and has a strong will to succeed, to see how much he can do and how far he can go. No matter what Martin accomplishes, he does not rest on his laurels. Dean wants to keep on going, to do even bigger things. He is proactive, enterprising and enthusiastic about new projects. He is not happy in situations that do not offer him challenges and the potential for future growth - no matter how secure or satisfactory they may seem in other respects. He enjoys competition, but Dean Martin competes mostly with himself, to see how much of his vision and potential he can really achieve. He makes a good leader, inspiring courage and confidence in others. Dean Martin usually enjoys good health and a high level of vitality.
Although enterprising and proactive, Dean Martin is also capable of ample much self-discipline, patience and effort. He may swing from confidence and trust in the future to pessimism and doubt, when it comes to achieving his aims in life.
Conscientious, responsible, and serious about his work, Dean Martin accomplishes a great deal through his dedication. He is the person in the office or company who follows through, quietly sustains the effort, and keeps on going in spite of tedium, setbacks, or dry spells. This is often the key to Dean's success. However, Dean Martin is humble about his accomplishments and contributions, and may thus not receive the recognition or recompense that he deserves.
Although he is patient and steady when pursuing an objective, when Dean Martin finally loses patience he loses it completely! In addition to having great tenacity and perseverance, Dean has a daring and rebellious side as well:
Intensely restless, dynamic and energetic, he is always on the go. When Dean Martin wants something, he wants it NOW, and he acts decisively and impulsively, albeit sometimes hastily and prematurely. Impatient, high-strung, and often nervous and tense, Dean finds it difficult to slow down, pace himself or relax. He is fiercely individualistic and independent, self-willed and intolerant of restraints and restrictions imposed by others. Dean Martin has a reckless disregard for authority and can be extremely rebellious. Cooperating with others is not Martin's strong point! He is often brutally frank and abrupt with people, and can be quite impersonal when he is pursuing a desired goal. He may demonstrate an explosive temper when his will is blocked. Dean Martin has a superabundance of energy and he needs a great deal of personal freedom to do things in his own style and at his own pace.
Martin is able to combine his vision with sharp perception and intellect, and therefore his actions are guided by common sense. Dean has great verbal ability and the gift of inserting his comments at the right time, but he may find it hard to stop talking.
Somewhat self-willed and obstinate, Martin tends to withdraw from everything that he deem unnecessary. He may prefer to be alone and is inclined to cut himself off from other people frequently, resulting in loneliness and depression.
Dean Martin seems to be compelled to defend his rights and may be subject to angry upsets or quarrels in his relationships. At times Dean Martin could be the force behind the scenes and may be attracted to some kind of secret mission, such as a secret agent.
Dean has the patience and the stamina to realize his visions and bring them down to earth, a fine balance between hard work and realism, and a positive, hopeful spirit. Dean Martin grows through following systems and plans, and taking one step at a time. Overnight success or instant enlightenment is not what Martin aims for. His patient, well-balanced approach gives Dean Martin credibility with many different types of people, and he is apt to gain an excellent reputation for being able to do big things without overreaching or becoming pretentious.
His desire for a beautiful home, a comfortable, pleasing lifestyle, and time to relax and enjoy himself may well be the motivation for going out into the world and trying to achieve outward success. Dean Martin may seesaw at times between his professional drives and desire for status, and the appeal of a rich personal life and home comforts.
He is attracted to careers which are somewhat unusual, creative, or avant-garde, and which offer Dean Martin a maximum amount of freedom and independence. The nine-to-five routine is really not his cup of tea. Dean may make his living in diversified ways rather than focusing on one specific area or talent, and he is happiest when he can create a place in the world for his unique combination of different talents and interests. It is hard and unnatural for Dean Martin to try to fit himself into a ready-made mold.
Dean Martin has a tendency to say things which unintentionally put off those in a position to advance his career and professional ambitions. Perhaps it is not what Dean says, but the manner in which he does so, or the timing. At times Dean Martin is apt to feels that he must stifle certain thoughts and opinions in order to succeed in reaching his goals. Mostly, though, Martin will need to be shrewd, tactical, and conscious of how his words will affect his listeners.
Martin can be rather antagonistic toward those in authority. Even without realizing it, he may convey this attitude and he may well be threatening to those in power. Thus, however well-meaning Dean Martin is, he may find his initiatives or projects meet with little favor. Working independently might be Dean's best option.
Dean wants very much to be in a position to be able to positively influence and help many people. However, he may believe that he has to sacrifice his idealism or convictions in order to attain his ambitions. At times his desire for prominence, popularity, or stature may make Dean Martin do things that put him in a dubious situation with his superiors.
He is very conscious of his purpose or objective in life and he is ambitious with a strong desire to succeed. His leadership ability is apparent to everyone and Dean Martin does not take a back seat to anyone.
Dean has the ability to concentrate, but he is inclined to be wrapped up entirely in his own ideas. Although he has a tendency to think too much, Dean Martin thinks out the consequences of his actions ahead of time and learns the lessons well from his experiences.
