His optimism and enthusiasm (mentioned in the previous chapter), is balanced by an innate objectivity, detachment, and pragmatic realism that usually keeps his idealistic ventures on a sound course. Though he appears confident and positive, Conrad Hilton is often quite skeptical and much more cautious than he lets on. And while it is true that Hilton likes to play, he is also serious about his work and commitments.
Serious, disciplined and quietly ambitious, he is driven to prove himself and to achieve material accomplishments and success. His work, his position in the world, and his contributions to society are very important to Hilton. Conrad Hilton will persevere through enormous hardship and frustration in order to reach a goal he has set for himself, and he often sacrifices much in the area of personal relationships and home life in order to do so.
Conrad Hilton has a thoughtful, quiet and self-contained disposition and does not readily show his inner feelings and needs. Conrad Hilton seems to always be in control, capable, efficient and strong. He is often the person in the family or group who is given more responsibility (and more work) than the others. That is, Conrad Hilton does not always consciously understand why he feels as driven or intense about a given course of action as he does. A significant death or loss in his close relationships is likely to profoundly influence Conrad Hilton and shape important life decisions and he may consciously seek out intense, life-or-death experiences as well.
Hilton has a strong will and great determination and is willing to work hard to reach his goals. Conrad Hilton often takes on more than his share and labors untiringly, sparing himself no pain in his work. Conrad should guard against over-exerting himself physically.
He may find it hard to establish relationships with other people and he tends to look for more timid partners. Conrad Hilton could also have difficulty expressing his ideas to others as well as coming to an understanding with them.
