His self-reliant, independent spirit described in the previous chapter, combined with his strong sense of community and larger social issues, compel Rock to take a strong stand on various ideological and political issues. Chris Rock feels that others are often too unconcerned and uninvolved in larger social issues that affect them directly. Political activism or being a "warrior" for a cause that is dear to his heart may be Chris' path in life.
