Chico Anysio challenges and difficulties
Chico Anysio has a great capacity for self-denial in the pursuit of a long-range goal. Chico is capable of hard work and persistent labor, but he may lack joyfulness and the ability to play. Chico Anysio often feels burdened by life's demands and responsibilities, and may envy those who seem to attract what they want in life without a great deal of personal effort.
There is a very judgmental, stern, and uncompromising side of Anysio's which may inhibit him a great deal. Chico Anysio must avoid becoming heavy and cynical, or becoming a rather callous, sophisticated adult whose practicality and realism squeeze out the playful, imaginative side of life.
He is very conscientious, responsible, and concerned with his duty, his public image and reputation, and becoming a person of stature in the world. Chico Anysio understands the need for hard work and careful planning in order to accomplish anything substantial and he is capable of much self-discipline and patience once he sets his sights on a goal.
But Chico Anysio is very judgmental and hard on himself if he fails to attain success, and he can become dry, bitter, or cynical if the world does not recognize his efforts.
Chico Anysio feels that he must work very hard and struggle against tremendous odds that impede his chances of fulfilling his life's ambitions. Chico may adopt a very hard, cynical, or nihilistic attitude that will only drag him down further. There are major problems with his father or figures of authority. Chico Anysio may fail simply to spite "them", without realizing that he is primarily hurting himself. If he can overcome his feelings of loneliness, bitterness or isolation, and direct his energies toward constructive endeavors, Anysio can be immensely effective because of his tremendous tenacity and potential for achievement.
Chico Anysio has a sense of duty and responsibility, but may find it difficult to make up his mind and come to a decision. Anysio is somewhat slow to act, and his need to be fully prepared inclines him to let good opportunities slip away at times.
Now we will discuss patterns of behavior which Chico Anysio instinctively and habitually reverts to when under stress - a mostly subconscious process that he is apt to over indulge in because it is so familiar and hence easy for him. The direction Chico Anysio needs to follow in order to develop balance, greater awareness, and wholeness is also described.
Seeking harmonious interpersonal relationships, cooperation, and togetherness, as well as the desire to please or appease other people, are drives that come very naturally to Chico Anysio - so much so that he seeks them out at his own expense. When he is under stress, Anysio tends to look outside himself for approval or answers, and he leans on others too much. Therefore, developing self-reliance, and the courage to look inwardly for answers and forge his own path through life is a key factor in his self-development.
Chico Anysio is often tempted to be less than completely straightforward about his intentions or desires, and he can become enmeshed in a quagmire of "little white lies". Stark honesty - both inward and toward others - is the only way out! This, however, leads to the need to confront some of Anysio's most deeply ingrained fears, such as "what if they do not like me?" and "what if I have to go through this alone?".
Chico Anysio needs to cultivate his ability to be assertive, take initiative and act on his own behalf. Directness and self-reliance are imperative.
It is in his relationships with others that he is most likely to wrestle with these issues. There is a dynamic balance (or conflict) within Chico Anysio between acting spontaneously and being true to himself versus modifying himself or his behavior to suit others. Chico Anysio seesaws between being inordinately concerned with his self to being overly conciliatory and concerned with others' needs, rights, or opinions about him. Learning to act authentically and forthrightly regardless of possible consequences is Anysio's task.
The following are specific activities that will support Chico Anysio in his growth. These may or may not feel natural to Anysio, and he may initially resist or feel awkward about them, but they are crucial to his path to wholeness.
Chico Anysio should be willing to become more of a free thinker, to experiment and change, to loosen his ties to tradition and the known and to allow for new developments. He needs to practice getting involved in an area involving new techniques, rapid changes and innovation. Chico can be part of the avant-garde promoting such changes - be it in science, music or social relationships. Chico Anysio has to be willing to be different and perhaps to be considered eccentric or odd.
Anysio is inclined to seek out relationships with people who have the same interests and he has a desire to work with them toward obtaining mutually shared objectives. Some of Chico's contacts or introductions could come about suddenly.
Chico has the power to influence people to his way of thinking and may forcefully try to obtain the leadership in his community. Others cannot help noticing him, and Chico Anysio will probably be the leader in any clubs or associations he may decide to join.
