Though Allen appears rather intense, quiet and enigmatic at first (as mentioned in the previous chapter), he is really quite friendly, sociable and interested in people. He may sometimes feel torn between getting deeply involved emotionally and staying light, free and unencumbered.

Chad Allen is, in many ways, an eternal child. His mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and his attention span is often quite brief. His faults are his lack of constancy and persistence, and his tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.

Chad Allen invests a tremendous amount of his creative energy into his relationships with others, particularly his marriage or other close partnerships. Chad feels that he needs others in order to be all that he can be, and he is disinclined to solitary activities and endeavors.

Chad has big aspirations and the desire to succeed in life in a grand way. Chad Allen tends to exaggerate, promise more than is feasible and misjudge by being overly optimistic. However, he never gives up on his hopes for the future. Allen tends to be restless and discontent with the responsibilities and limitations of life.

He may find it hard to establish relationships with other people and he tends to look for more timid partners. Chad Allen could also have difficulty expressing his ideas to others as well as coming to an understanding with them.
