The combination of independence, self-reliance (as described in Chapter 2) and perseverance and dedication (as described below) enables Brian Eno to succeed in an independent line of work. Brian has both the initiative to take a pioneering step and the persistence to see it through. Eno should note, however, that his stubbornness and self-reliance often cause him to cling to his own convictions and Brian Eno is often unreceptive to others' suggestions, assistance, advice or support.

He is a steadfast and patient soul, capable of tremendous devotion, dedication, endurance and constancy. The ability to follow through and stick with things is one of his greatest assets. Once Eno's course is set, he pursues it tenaciously until it is completed, stubbornly resisting any attempts to sway him from his purpose.

Brian Eno has a very practical nature; he wants to see concrete, tangible results for his efforts, and he is not one to concoct wild dreams that are unlikely to come into fruition. Most of his "wild dreams" have to do with material achievements, well-being and security, for he has a great love of the physical world and he wants to experience and enjoy it to the full. Basically, his needs are simple and he is easy to please. Brian Eno has a strong desire for security, stability and peace, and will rarely make changes unless he is forced to do so. He is not very demanding emotionally, though he does crave a great deal of physical closeness and affection. Because of his faithfulness, emotional steadfastness and gentle strength, others often depend upon Eno for support. Though he hates upheaval and sudden changes, Brian Eno usually maintains his poise and equanimity. Brian Eno also has an innate sense of harmony with nature, allowing things to grow and unfold in their own time and the patience to nurture something into being - be it a garden, a child, or a creative project. He makes an excellent parent, especially if he follows his instincts more often than "the experts".

Brian has three major faults: one is his bullheaded obstinacy. The second is his unwillingness to deviate from his safe, predictable routine. And the third is Eno's tendency to always insist upon realism and undervalue the imaginative, speculative, and fanciful - in other words, Brian Eno lacks the ability to play with ideas and possibilities, and to open his mind to new horizons.

Brian Eno has a clear sense of his own self and he therefore conveys a strong impression to others of who he is and what he wants. Assertive and self-motivated, Eno can be a leader - one whom others look to for direction - but he competes and often clash with other strong individuals. Brian Eno feels a need to be in control of his own life and he can be too self-involved, too immersed in his own interests, and oblivious to others at times.

He is direct, energetic, sometimes aggressive and combative. Brian Eno often feels that he needs to fight to get what he wants, and he tends to have a "me-first" attitude that angers or irritates others. He is hasty, restless, impatient and sometimes reckless.

Brian Eno has a harmonious and graceful manner along with an appreciation of beautiful, perhaps even artistically furnished surroundings. Brian may be quite attractive and he is likely to make a favorable impression on everyone.

It could be hard for Brian Eno to face up to his mistakes because of his insecurity and self-doubt. His early years may have been undermined by poor relationships with one or both of his parents who may have been ill, weak or alcoholic.
