Though she may appear unconventional and liberal in this thinking (as mentioned in the previous chapter), she also has a rather conservative, grounded, practical nature, as described below. She may feel torn at times between maintaining the status quo, versus creating controversy and making waves.

Her practical nature gives Zoë Fontana the capacity to be very successful in business. Sometimes, however, Fontana holds to her own views too obstinately and dogmatically, causing her to limit her possibilities and overlook opportunities.

She is a steadfast and patient soul, capable of tremendous devotion, dedication, endurance and constancy. The ability to follow through and stick with things is one of her greatest assets. Once Fontana's course is set, she pursues it tenaciously until it is completed, stubbornly resisting any attempts to sway her from her purpose.

Zoë Fontana has a very practical nature; she wants to see concrete, tangible results for her efforts, and she is not one to concoct wild dreams that are unlikely to come into fruition. Most of her "wild dreams" have to do with material achievements, well-being and security, for she has a great love of the physical world and she wants to experience and enjoy it to the full. Though Zoë Fontana will work long and persistently, she also has a strong sensual and comfort-loving side, and she wants to enjoy what she has worked for. In fact, Fontana can be enormously lazy at times and has a tendency to overindulge in good food and other earthly pleasures. Zoë Fontana also loves the beauty of the natural world and she probably prefers a serene country setting to an urban life style.

Basically, her needs are simple and she is easy to please. Zoë Fontana has a strong desire for security, stability and peace, and will rarely make changes unless she is forced to do so. She is not very demanding emotionally, though she does crave a great deal of physical closeness and affection. Because of her faithfulness, emotional steadfastness and gentle strength, others often depend upon Fontana for support. Though she hates upheaval and sudden changes, Zoë Fontana usually maintains her poise and equanimity. Zoë Fontana also has an innate sense of harmony with nature, allowing things to grow and unfold in their own time and the patience to nurture something into being - be it a garden, a child, or a creative project. She makes an excellent parent, especially if she follows her instincts more often than "the experts".

Zoë has three major faults: one is her bullheaded obstinacy. The second is her unwillingness to deviate from her safe, predictable routine. And the third is Fontana's tendency to always insist upon realism and undervalue the imaginative, speculative, and fanciful - in other words, Zoë Fontana lacks the ability to play with ideas and possibilities, and to open her mind to new horizons.

The urge to learn and to communicate is essential to Zoë Fontana, and she expresses herself very well through writing, teaching or sharing ideas and information. Fontana is persuasive and fluent with language.

Restless and inquisitive, Zoë enjoys being mobile and taking short trips and excursions in order to see for herself what is going on in the world around her.

There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Zoë Fontana, between her conscious attitudes and aspirations, and her deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs, and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Zoë may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with her subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in her body may well be a signal that Zoë Fontana is denying or suppressing the messages from her subconscious or emotional self.

Ideally, Zoë Fontana will learn to accept the two quite different aspects of her and to express both of them. If she cannot do this, Fontana is apt to attract many relationships into her life with people who reflect her denied or repressed qualities, and who seem to make her life difficult.
