Tipper Gore motivation
As described in the previous chapter, Tipper Gore instinctively protects, nurtures and supports others, and as discussed below, she loves to be a leader. The combination of these two sides of Gore results in her being a good leader of her family, or any club or group to which she belongs. Tipper Gore treats people with a lot of personal attention and care and is appreciated as a result.
She also often takes things too personally and many times Tipper Gore thinks that things are directed at her personally when they are not.
Behind Gore's rather gentle, soft appearance she is very willful and stubborn, a surprise to people as they get to know her better.
Proud and intensely individual, Tipper Gore really wants to stand out, to be the very best she can be, and to be recognized and appreciated for her unique contributions. Doing something well and being respected for it is extremely important to her, and she cannot tolerate being relegated to the background, taking orders from others, or being "just one of the team". Tipper Gore must put her personal stamp on whatever she does, and direct her own course in life. Tipper Gore needs to have a place where she can shine, express herself creatively, and be the one in charge.
Tipper has big dreams and the determination, spirit, vitality and enthusiasm to realize them. Tipper Gore also has a noble, romantic heart, and a love of the dramatic, colorful, and extravagant.
For Tipper Gore, it is true that "the entire world's a stage" and she secretly (or perhaps not so secretly) desires to be the star or hero of the play. Tipper wants to be great and to receive the love and applause of an adoring audience, even if the "audience" is just one other special person. She needs someone to believe in her and her dreams. Though Gore appears radiantly self-confident and independent, she is actually very dependent on the affirmation, love and recognition of others. She cannot bear going unnoticed or unappreciated.
Tipper Gore also loves wholeheartedly and generously and really knows how to make the person she loves feel special. Tipper Gore loves the magic of "being in love" and knows how to keep the romance alive in her relationships. She is also immensely loyal and will defend her loved ones and stand by them to the end - as long as they never offend her pride or betray her trust. However, Tipper Gore likes to be the strong one in her relationships and she really does not share the leading role very easily. Ideally, Tipper needs to find a person who is as strong-willed as she is, but who will not try to dominate or compete with her.
Gore's strengths are her zest and love for life, her creative power and her warm and generous heart. Her primary fault is her tendency to be very egocentric, and so concerned with the impression she is making and with her own creative self-expression that she forgets there is another, larger world that does not revolve around her.
The urge to learn and to communicate is essential to Tipper Gore, and she expresses herself very well through writing, teaching or sharing ideas and information. Gore is persuasive and fluent with language.
Restless and inquisitive, Tipper enjoys being mobile and taking short trips and excursions in order to see for herself what is going on in the world around her.
Her conscious intentions and goals are frequently opposed by her unconscious beliefs and desires. If Tipper Gore overrides her instincts and emotions because they seem to lead her in a direction diametrically opposed to the one she consciously desires, her emotions can become unruly. Poor relationships with women and/or difficulties in close one-on-one relationships are also a reflection of this tendency. However, if Tipper Gore attends to her emotional urges and feelings and listens to the voice of her intuition, dreams and gut feelings, she will derive greater satisfaction from a more balanced life.
Tipper Gore has a mature and often somber demeanor. She is serious, reserved, self-disciplined, highly responsible and conscientious. She progresses rather slowly in life, through her own efforts and persistence. She is also rather stern and judgmental, especially with herself. Cautious and careful, it is difficult for her to really let go, be spontaneous and playful. Tipper likes to be in control of herself.
Although she takes herself and her responsibilities seriously, there is also a part of Tipper Gore that rebels against rules and restrictions and the need to contend with outside authority. Gore can feel torn between conforming to the rules or fulfilling her obligations, and breaking free of them. Her wilder side will now be described.
She is an original! Tipper Gore radiates a sort of electrical excitement about the things she is interested in, and conveys this to others, but she also gets bored rather quickly. Tipper does not mind being a bit unusual or breaking a few rules either.
Tipper Gore has a pleasant and dreamy disposition with considerable romantic imagination. Tipper has a strong longing for love, but she does not see others very clearly and may experience many disappointments in her emotional relationships.
Her physical energy is strong and Tipper Gore is able to make an extra effort and work quite hard at any task she wants to do. Gore can act quickly and she gets a great deal accomplished in a hurry. But Tipper Gore also has a tendency to be reckless and accident-prone.
Gore depends a great deal on other people's reactions to her and rarely acts until she sees how she affects others. Tipper Gore must learn to be direct and straightforward, rather than evasive or manipulative. Tipper should also learn to rely heavily on her hunches.
