Sri Aurobindo drive and ambition
Sri Aurobindo avoids direct confrontation as much as possible and is uncomfortable with aggressiveness, competition and personal power. His ego drive is not very dominant and Aurobindo Ghose is not especially ambitious or eager to push his way to the top. He may feel inadequate in situations that call for strong, forceful action. The only instance in which Sri Aurobindo will really fight is when he senses that his loved ones - or something dear to him- are being jeopardized, in which case he is a fierce defender. Sri Aurobindo has a very strong protective side. He acts on impulse and instinct and may lash out at anyone he perceives as threatening to Sri Aurobindo's home or family. However, Sri Aurobindo will rarely initiate a confrontation. His goals also tend to be very personal and centered on family closeness and inner satisfaction rather than worldly achievement.
He is sensitive to stress and does not handle a high-pressured, competitive atmosphere very well. Sri Aurobindo is very touchy, irritable and difficult to live with when there are many demands or stressful situations at work. His energy level varies and is very dependent on the emotional harmony (or lack thereof) in his home. A supportive partner is very instrumental in helping Aurobindo Ghose to achieve his goals and desires.
Asserting himself and being direct and forceful about what he wants is very often difficult for Sri Aurobindo. Though he may have a great deal of energy and drive, Sri Aurobindo lacks confidence or simply the desire to put himself and his interests first. Positively, Aurobindo Ghose can be very unselfish, working more on behalf of others rather than for himself.
However, Sri Aurobindo denies his own desires and needs too much, and he is likely to secretly become very angry, which will sabotage his finest efforts.
Dynamic, self-willed, and fiercely independent, he has extraordinary drive and energy. When Sri Aurobindo wants something, he wants it this very minute, and he acts quickly, impulsively and decisively. His impatience inclines Sri Aurobindo to be abrupt with people and reckless. He needs a great deal of personal freedom to do things in his own way and does not happily conform to schedules, rules or regimes imposed by others. He is intolerant of authority and can be very rebellious. He is very frank with others, sometimes brutally so. Sri Aurobindo may have an explosive temper. High-strung and often nervous and tense, Sri Aurobindo finds it difficult to slow down, pace himself or relax. Sri Aurobindo is always on the go. He is restless, daring and experimental.
While Sri Aurobindo is often charged with energy and inspired about what he wants to do (as mentioned earlier), there is a dreamy, visionary, or passive side to him as well. His energy level may fluctuate from being superabundant to rather lax.
Ordinary life often seems drab and uninteresting to Sri Aurobindo and he must have something that stirs his imagination - a vision or ideal or dream to motivate him. Sri Aurobindo has a strong urge to act out his fantasies or to live his dream, and Sri Aurobindo will act where others merely talk or dream. Artistic creation, drama or other areas in which Aurobindo Ghose can express himself imaginatively are excellent for him.
Work that only serves his own narrow personal interests does not satisfy Sri Aurobindo. He may lack the competitive edge, the fighting spirit, the "me first" attitude that is often required for material advancement and success. He also tends to either overestimate or underestimate his own power and abilities.
An intense team-worker, Sri Aurobindo is likely to realize plans that he makes in common with others. He may prefer to work with partners rather than alone and could form relationships with others for the purpose of working together.
Sri Aurobindo has grand aspirations and may be inordinately ambitious at times. That is, he is apt to be discontent with small successes and to feel like a failure unless he achieves extraordinary things. Sri Aurobindo should avoid get-rich-quick schemes which promise tremendous returns for little energy expenditure. Even if they do seem to succeed, Aurobindo Ghose's ideals and values could be compromised.
Fluidity of speech and thought, and using intellectual gifts or communicative skills to achieve his ambitions in life are featured. Convincing, selling, persuading, reasoning, bringing ideas into public awareness are also part of Aurobindo Ghose's professional life.
Discipline, concentration, a realistic sense of what is attainable, and steady dedication to achieving his ambitions are the keys to Sri Aurobindo's progress. Sri Aurobindo is apt to move slowly but constantly in the direction of his goals, and solid achievement is the outcome of this conservative approach.
