Robert Stack

Though Robert Stack seems quite soft and sympathetic (as mentioned in the previous chapter), deep down, he is very hardheaded and practical and Stack can be surprisingly cool and impassive. He is caring, but at the same time rather detached and unemotional. Robert Stack has a knack for understanding others because he can empathize with them without getting "sucked into" their problems and concerns. For this reason, he is a good parent. Robert can also be very shrewd in business because he can sense what others want and is clever at finding ways to market products or services that people want.

Serious, disciplined and quietly ambitious, he is driven to prove himself and to achieve material accomplishments and success. His work, his position in the world, and his contributions to society are very important to Stack. Robert Stack will persevere through enormous hardship and frustration in order to reach a goal he has set for himself, and he often sacrifices much in the area of personal relationships and home life in order to do so.

Robert Stack has a thoughtful, quiet and self-contained disposition and does not readily show his inner feelings and needs. Robert Stack seems to always be in control, capable, efficient and strong. He is often the person in the family or group who is given more responsibility (and more work) than the others. He is highly conscientious and even as a child he possessed great maturity, soberness, and worldly wisdom.

He is basically a pragmatic realist, and though he may have all sorts of dreams, ideals and colorful theories, he feels that the ultimate test of a concept is its practical usefulness. Robert has an innate shrewdness and business sense, and there is a bit of the cynic in him as well.

He is clear-headed, detached and objective, and is not swayed by emotional dramatics. He is often authoritarian - strictly fair, but without mercy. Robert Stack has a great respect for tradition and even if he does not agree with certain laws, he will abide by them or strive to change them, but never flagrantly disregard them. He is subtle, understated, quiet, deep, not easy to get to know intimately, and never superficial. He is a modest person and sometimes overly self-critical. Giving himself (and others) permission to feel, play, be spontaneous and silly, and sometimes weak and vulnerable is not easy for Stack.

Stack's strong points are his depth and thoroughness, patience, tenacity and faithfulness. His faults are a tendency to be rigid and inflexible, and too serious.

Robert Stack invests a tremendous amount of his creative energy into his relationships with others, particularly his marriage or other close partnerships. Robert feels that he needs others in order to be all that he can be, and he is disinclined to solitary activities and endeavors.

Working with people on a one-to-one basis to promote mutual understanding, harmony, and satisfaction is an area in which Robert Stack can really excel. Counseling or negotiating are talents of his.

There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Robert Stack between his conscious attitudes and aspirations and his deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Robert may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with his subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in his body may well be a signal that Robert Stack is denying or suppressing the messages from his subconscious or emotional self.

Ideally, Robert Stack will learn to accept and express these two different sides of himself. Should he fail to do so, Stack is likely to be drawn into many relationships with people who reflect his denied or repressed qualities and seem to make his life difficult. He is creative and talented, but must develop self-discipline to channel his energies productively. Robert Stack may feel that everything is going to be all right, that he cannot lose and may take risks by gambling or speculating, which could result in disappointments.

Robert Stack has a sensitive physique, is impressionable and prone to external influences. Robert should guard against the tendency to escape through drugs, alcohol etc. His imagination is very vivid and Stack is likely to dream of big things.
