He is a gentle, sensitive person with a deep understanding of people and a very tolerant, accepting, non-judgmental approach towards life. In a noisy, competitive atmosphere Rey Mysterio is often receding and withdrawn for he is not an aggressive, forceful person, and he intensely dislikes conflict. This can lead to vagueness, uncertainty, and confusion on his part - or to a very flexible and holistic way of approaching any issue.

Despite the fact that his core self is quite distinct from the face the world generally sees, Rey Mysterio has a strong desire to be seen and recognized, to be acknowledged, and to have a significant impact on people in his environment. He may do remarkable things in order to be noticed. However, Rey Mysterio often does not get the full recognition he yearns for.

To others, Rey Mysterio appears capable, mature and down to earth. Even when he was young, there was a certain practicality and responsible air about Rey that inspired people to rely on him. Mysterio keeps his cool in most situations.
