Prince Andrew is actually a more sensitive, vulnerable and compassionate person than his proud and somewhat vain manner (described in the previous chapter) would suggest. Although he maintains a strong, confident facade, he is actually quite soft, understanding and caring.

At heart he is very gentle, impressionable and receptive - a dreamer. The world of his imagination, feelings, and intuition is as real to Prince Andrew as anything in the outer world, though he may have trouble verbalizing or interpreting his inner experiences in a way others can understand. Mystical, artistic, musical, emotional and imaginative, he has a rich inner life, though Prince Andrew may seem rather unobtrusive and quiet outwardly. Prince Andrew usually keeps to himself.

Prince Andrew shows great sensitivity and empathy toward others and often senses things psychically or intuitively which prove to be correct. He is tolerant, forgiving and nonjudgmental, accepting people unconditionally regardless of their flaws, mistakes, or outward appearance. Prince Andrew has deep compassion for the suffering of any fellow creature and he often feels the pain of others as if it were his own. He is a lover and a peacemaker rather than a fighter, and he tries to avoid open conflict. Prince Andrew will patiently ignore or "tune out" problems and hope they will go away by themselves, rather than confront them directly and Prince Andrew tends to lack the positive, fighting spirit that is sometimes necessary to overcome challenges. He is fluid, open, nonresistant and somewhat passive. Prince Andrew does things in a subtle, often covert, manner.

His gifts may also lie in the realm of the creative, artistic, or musical, for he possesses great sensitivity, inspiration and limitless imagination. Prince Andrew has a strong affinity for beauty and love.

His faults include a tendency to be lazy and negligent, and to wallow in self-pity rather than take strong, definite action to change his life for the better. He also tends to become so detached from his immediate environment that he lives in a disorderly, chaotic sort of hodgepodge, though this probably bothers those around Prince Andrew more than it bothers him.

Prince Andrew craves intense experiences and is attracted to aspects of life that are strange, unfathomable or taboo. Prince Andrew may hide his interests or inclinations, except from those who know him very intimately. Prince Andrew is rarely content with himself and his life, and he has an inner urge to continually delve deeper than ever before. Prince Andrew is also highly interested in social power and the role that money and economics play in people's lives.

Prince Andrew often feels that he is at cross purposes with himself, for his conscious intentions and desires conflict with his subconscious emotional needs and drives. He is torn in two different directions. Prince Andrew has difficulty satisfying both his need to be an individual and his need for caring relationships and a sense of belonging. Moreover, Prince Andrew sends out mixed messages so people do not always know how to respond to him or what Prince Andrew really wants, thereby creating confusion or conflict in close relationships.

His life is apt to be blessed with more than his share of helpful friends, fortuitous relationships, and doors opening up to him at just the right time. Because Prince Andrew is usually willing to share and to give back to others in a generous way, he continues to generate success in his life no matter how unfortunate prevailing circumstances are. Prince Andrew should beware, however, of becoming an opportunist.
