Patra challenges and difficulties
Patra either overvalues or undervalues her possessions and assets. She can also go to extremes in dealing with bodily needs and desires, being either hedonistic or ascetic. Patra may deny herself sensual pleasure and enjoyment of the fruits of her labors. She may also be stingy and unable to give freely. Many times Patra feels that she does not have "enough" to make her feel secure, regardless of how much (money, insurance, etc.) she has!
Patra has a mature, disciplined, serious attitude toward life that colors everything she does. Caution and realism are her virtues though Patra limits herself at times by being too careful, shy or fearful, not believing in herself enough, or lacking the required assertiveness. Others find Patra difficult to get to know intimately, as Patra tends to distance herself from them or to outwardly adopt a rather stern, "adult" demeanor.
Her faith, optimism, and sense of possibilities are tempered by a great deal of caution, and often doubt or skepticism as well. Whatever hopes or visions Patra has for her life are firmly held in check by her sense of reality. At times she may wish for more freedom, but Patra also fears it and holds back. Patra may blame practical limitations, some external condition or the prevailing Authority for her own inhibitions.
Patra is aware of her own shortcomings and is able to overcome many frustrations and limitations. She concentrates on her aims and goes about achieving them, even if she has to sacrifice something in the process.
Now we will discuss patterns of behavior which Patra instinctively and habitually reverts to when under stress - a mostly subconscious process that she is apt to over indulge in because it is so familiar and hence easy for her. The direction Patra needs to follow in order to develop balance, greater awareness, and wholeness is also described.
Patra's path lies in cultivating idealism and humanitarian feelings, being concerned with how Patra's actions impact the world at large, perhaps becoming more aware of the social implications of Patra's life style and personal choices or becoming active politically. Participating in organizations that support Patra's ideals is one way to do this.
When under stress she is likely to become overly focused on herself and her own little world.
Instead of "how will this benefit or hurt me?" Patra's focus needs to shift to "how will this affect us all?".
Ideally, Patra needs to strike a balance between doing for herself and doing for others, by discovering how Patra's unique gifts can benefit others.
It is in her public life and career that Patra is most likely to wrestle with these issues. The latter will impact Patra's reputation and standing in her community or professional circle, as well as how Patra achieves her important life goals and aspirations.
The following are specific activities that will support Patra in her growth. These may or may not feel natural to Patra, and she may initially resist or feel awkward about them, but they are crucial to her path to wholeness.
Patra should develop true self-confidence and the willingness to put herself "out there", be seen and shine. Patra needs to be willing to take on a leading role. She needs to be a hero - a protagonist in her own story - by cultivating the courageous, active, and positive masculine qualities she possesses. Doing creative work that she is proud of - anything that comes from Patra's heart and bears the stamp of Patra's individuality - is important. Also, being a mentor, a helpful, encouraging force in the life of someone less experienced than she is a way for Patra to grow and become more whole herself.
