Nancy Allen seems much more objective, unemotional and matter-of-fact than she really is. Despite her fussiness and perfectionism (described in the previous chapter), she is actually very caring and loving. Nancy Allen needs to make sure to openly express her feelings because otherwise, others do not realize how much she cares about them.

Nancy has powerful emotional attachments to the past, her family, her childhood, places she associates with safety and security, and her beginnings.
