Max Ernst's fundamental needs, values, and orientation towards life are symbolized by the four astrological elements. Max Ernst is very ambitious and willing to work hard to get to the top. Max's combination of drive and practicality has the potential to catapult him to success. His personal relationships and family are equally important to Max; as such, his challenge lies in trying to balance his personal life with his personal goals. However, as a practical person, Ernst is highly capable of juggling things.

Max Ernst does have a weak point: he becomes so engrossed in his life that he does not take the time to understand or reflect upon his experience, and thus finds it hard to talk about it. Really appreciating what someone else has to say can be difficult for Max Ernst - he does not readily adapt to new ideas or people, and as a result may become inflexible or limit his experience of life. Broadening his education and gaining exposure to different cultures is very beneficial to Max. Otherwise Max is apt to be rigid and even prejudiced against those outside his own circle. He also tends to distrust people who communicate freely or to feel inferior to those who are more articulate and intellectual than he is. Max Ernst learns much more readily by watching, doing or apprenticing than by reading or being told about something.
