Lukas Haas motivation
Behind Haas' proud and magnanimous demeanor (as described on the previous page) lies a real go-getter. Others feel that he is rather narcissistic. Lukas Haas should strive to always be aware of others' needs and concerns to prove this criticism wrong!
He is a person who thrives on challenge, and he often feels that he must battle his way through life, relying on no one and nothing but his own strength, intelligence and courage. Lukas Haas believes in being totally honest, true to himself and his own vision and convictions, even if it means standing alone. Honesty, integrity, personal honor and authenticity are Haas' gods, and he has no sympathy for weakness of character in others.
Lukas Haas craves the freedom to do things in his own way, and he works very well independently. Cooperating with others or carrying out another's will is not his style. Lukas likes to be the chief - or to go it alone.
Lukas Haas loves action and if others are settling down into a nice, comfortable little rut, then he is always ready to stir things up, do something new, make changes and introduce some fresh blood. Routine and sameness are tantamount to death for him. He is not afraid of trying something that has never been done before, and even though he may sometimes be perceived as a fool, Lukas Haas also discovers, invents and initiates things that others will later emulate. Taking risks and following his own star are the breath of life for Haas, and he wilts (or gets very frustrated and angry) if he cannot do this.
He is spontaneous, impulsive, direct, enthusiastic and assertive. Lukas Haas believes in the power of positive thinking and positive action, and he perceives himself as a strong, even invincible, person. Lukas Haas hates being ill or in a position of dependency. Accepting his own human limitations and emotional needs is often difficult for him.
He is basically aggressive in his attitudes and less adept at relating to others, picking up on subtle messages and nuances, listening, nurturing and harmonizing. He is often so fired up about his own projects or goals that he inadvertently runs over or ignores other people's feelings and interests. Being receptive and appreciative of others' contributions, ideas and feelings would be highly instrumental in improving Haas' relationships. His impatience to get on with things causes Lukas Haas to be rather insensitive, thereby alienating others unnecessarily. He also frequently tries to accomplish his goals through anger or temper tantrums. Lukas Haas would gain much by learning to slow down, relax and sometimes just let things be, however his energetic, restless nature rarely allows Lukas Haas to do so.
Haas is very attracted to world travel, foreign cultures and studies that expand his intellectual horizons and broaden his understanding of the world.
Lukas Haas is philosophically inclined and concerned with seeking answers to the big questions of life or getting an overall picture of any situation. Abstract concepts and/or plans for the future occupy his mind much of the time.
There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Lukas Haas between his conscious attitudes and aspirations and his deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Lukas may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with his subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in his body may well be a signal that Lukas Haas is denying or suppressing the messages from his subconscious or emotional self.
Ideally, Lukas Haas will learn to accept and express these two different sides of himself. Should he fail to do so, Haas is likely to be drawn into many relationships with people who reflect his denied or repressed qualities and seem to make his life difficult. (Also read chapter 4 in order to get a better picture of the duality described here.)
He is often plagued by feelings of personal inadequacy, inhibitions and self-doubt. Lukas Haas has a cautious, realistic attitude toward life and is highly responsible and disciplined with regard to his obligations and duties. Lukas Haas tends to work and struggle more than necessary and to take himself too seriously.
Haas always seems to find the right words to verbalize his feelings, especially in regard to love and friendship. Lukas Haas also has a keen sense of beauty and he probably appreciates art, music or poetry.
Lukas Haas tends to impose his will upon others in a rather ruthless way, but on the other hand he may also be imposed upon by others. Lukas feels a constant need to fight for leadership and has a great desire to become a public figure.
