Lenny Kravitz motivation
Though Lenny Kravitz cares very much about his dignity and the way he is perceived by others (as described on the previous page), he has a very mischievous, playful side that pokes fun of anyone who takes himself too seriously (including himself!). Also, though his great loyalty was highlighted in the previous chapter, fortunately he is also flexible and playful, so he does not allow his commitments to become too burdensome.
Lenny Kravitz is, in many ways, an eternal child. His mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and his attention span is often quite brief. Kravitz grasps ideas quickly and once his initial curiosity has been satisfied, he is ready to move on. Lenny Kravitz craves frequent change and variety, as well as new situations and people.
It may be hard for Lenny Kravitz to decide just where his talents and true vocation lie, for he has a multitude of interests and is loathe limiting himself by concentrating on just one. He is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. His curiosity and restlessness propel Lenny toward many different experiences in life, and he is willing to taste or try anything once. Doing the same thing over and over again, even if it is something he does well, is tantamount to drudgery for Kravitz.
Lenny Kravitz lives in his head a great deal - reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around - and he needs mental stimulation every bit as much as he needs food and drink. In fact, if Lenny had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, he would very likely choose the former. Lenny Kravitz has a creative mind and he often lives by his wits.
He is also a very social creature, with a strong need to communicate and interact with people. He enjoys using and playing with words and has a real flair for getting his ideas across in a clever, interesting, articulate manner. Writing and/or speaking are areas he has talent for.
Lenny Kravitz also has a rather lighthearted and mischievous sense of humor, and often does not take anything too seriously. Though he craves emotional involvement, it is hard for Lenny Kravitz to achieve it, for he is frequently unwilling to commit himself to anything, to take responsibility or to limit his personal freedom and mobility.
His happiness lies in using his creativity and language skills to communicate something meaningful, teach, inspire, or bring people together. Lenny has an unbiased mind and can usually offer a fresh, clear, uncluttered perspective. His faults are his lack of constancy and persistence, and his tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.
His career, reputation, and public image are very important to Kravitz. Lenny Kravitz has a strong desire to be influential or make his mark on the world. The merely personal sphere does not satisfy him; his ambitions include making a major contribution and receiving broad recognition for his unique effort and gifts. Lenny Kravitz may undervalue the personal or inner side of life.
His conscious intentions and goals are frequently opposed by his unconscious beliefs and desires. If Lenny Kravitz overrides his instincts and emotions because they seem to lead him in a direction diametrically opposed to the one he consciously desires, his emotions can become unruly. Poor relationships with women and/or difficulties in close one-on-one relationships are also a reflection of this tendency. However, if Lenny Kravitz attends to his emotional urges and feelings and listens to the voice of his intuition, dreams and gut feelings, he will derive greater satisfaction from a more balanced life.
He is often plagued by feelings of personal inadequacy, inhibitions and self-doubt. Lenny Kravitz has a cautious, realistic attitude toward life and is highly responsible and disciplined with regard to his obligations and duties. Lenny Kravitz tends to work and struggle more than necessary and to take himself too seriously.
Although he takes himself and his responsibilities seriously, there is also a part of Lenny Kravitz that rebels against rules and restrictions and the need to contend with outside authority. Kravitz can feel torn between conforming to the rules or fulfilling his obligations, and breaking free of them. His wilder side will now be described.
Impulsive, restless and spontaneous, his life is apt to be somewhat unstable and full of sudden changes. Lenny Kravitz is extremely independent and craves excitement, adventure, freedom and discovery. Kravitz has a rebellious streak and he often feels he is unusual and different from society's mainstream. The unorthodox and the novel appeal to him.
Lenny Kravitz has a strong need for intellectual relationships and associations and he likes to share his intellectual interests with others. This could be in meetings or by joining various clubs and organizations.
Lenny Kravitz has a sense of good fellowship and comradeship and is very much at ease in contact with others. Kravitz works successfully with others in his community, groups or associations and may get some assistance from some very powerful and influential people.
Kravitz tends to be in a constant state of tension and seems to look for avenues to test his strength. Lenny Kravitz uses all the energy at his disposal in order to succeed. Somewhat rebellious and inflexible, Lenny fights any opposition or resistance he meets.
