L. Ron Hubbard motivation
Behind Hubbard's open, enthusiastic, friendly demeanor (described in the previous chapter), he has a rather gentle, receding nature. He is much more sensitive and vulnerable than his outgoing demeanor would suggest.
Moreover, because his outgoing, enthusiastic approach to life is fueled by high idealism and a vivid imagination, L. Ron Hubbard easily becomes enamored of a romantic or idealistic goal or vision without investing sufficient energy into analyzing, planning or working in order to realize his dreams. Too often Hubbard waits for the blessings of fortune to provide him with the resources needed rather than applying himself to the work that needs to be done. When properly channeled, Ron's enthusiasm and vision can be an inspiration to others and an endless source of creative ideas that propel L. Ron Hubbard toward very interesting, creative endeavors.
At heart he is very gentle, impressionable and receptive - a dreamer. The world of his imagination, feelings, and intuition is as real to L. Ron Hubbard as anything in the outer world, though he may have trouble verbalizing or interpreting his inner experiences in a way others can understand. Mystical, artistic, musical, emotional and imaginative, he has a rich inner life, though Hubbard may seem rather unobtrusive and quiet outwardly. L. Ron Hubbard usually keeps to himself.
Ron shows great sensitivity and empathy toward others and often senses things psychically or intuitively which prove to be correct. He is tolerant, forgiving and nonjudgmental, accepting people unconditionally regardless of their flaws, mistakes, or outward appearance. Ron has deep compassion for the suffering of any fellow creature and he often feels the pain of others as if it were his own. L. Ron Hubbard sympathizes with the needy, the disadvantaged and the misfits of society. He is capable of giving selflessly, living a life of devoted and compassionate service to others, as a healer, physician, social worker or minister. However, Hubbard tends to give indiscriminately, to let others take advantage of his kindness, and to encourage the weak to remain so by becoming dependent upon him. Ron has little sense of boundaries, or of knowing when to say "no". Moderation and self-discipline are not his strong points.
He is a lover and a peacemaker rather than a fighter, and he tries to avoid open conflict. Hubbard will patiently ignore or "tune out" problems and hope they will go away by themselves, rather than confront them directly and Hubbard tends to lack the positive, fighting spirit that is sometimes necessary to overcome challenges. He is fluid, open, nonresistant and somewhat passive. L. Ron Hubbard does things in a subtle, often covert, manner.
His gifts may also lie in the realm of the creative, artistic, or musical, for he possesses great sensitivity, inspiration and limitless imagination. L. Ron Hubbard has a strong affinity for beauty and love.
His faults include a tendency to be lazy and negligent, and to wallow in self-pity rather than take strong, definite action to change his life for the better. He also tends to become so detached from his immediate environment that he lives in a disorderly, chaotic sort of hodgepodge, though this probably bothers those around Hubbard more than it bothers him.
The urge to learn and to communicate is essential to L. Ron Hubbard, and he expresses himself very well through writing, teaching or sharing ideas and information. Hubbard is persuasive and fluent with language.
Restless and inquisitive, Ron enjoys being mobile and taking short trips and excursions in order to see for himself what is going on in the world around him.
L. Ron Hubbard tends to see things from his perspective only and to be rather subjective. He also enjoys talking and expressing his views but does not always listen as well. L. Ron Hubbard has a clear mind, a love of learning and new experiences, and he needs constant mental stimulation and activity.
He is imaginative and sensitive to anything colorful, beautiful or magical. He is attracted to artistic and creative pursuits, music and mysticism. His spiritual values color Ron's whole perspective and approach to life. He is idealistic and perhaps impractical.
He is intensely willful, zealous, and fanatical though Ron often hides the intensity of his feelings and his personal motives and desires. Hubbard is infatuated with power and has an almost compulsive desire for personal recognition and the desire to be "somebody". L. Ron Hubbard tends to worship heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma and often seeks to emulate them. L. Ron Hubbard both fears, and is intensely fascinated with, death and the hidden, secret, dark side of life.
His emotions are in tune with his intentions and L. Ron Hubbard goes about his business with complete oneness. L. Ron Hubbard has a positive attitude towards life and a high spirit of enterprise. There could be a strong tie between Ron and his mother or his wife.
L. Ron Hubbard has a basic need to fit in with others and is always willing to cooperate. He enjoys working with others as a team and is a well liked comrade.
