Much of what is stated in the previous chapter and this one is similar. His well-honed analytical skills should help Hans Arp be successful. His tendency to criticize rather than empathize, however, often makes others feel that he does not appreciate or respect them.

At heart Hans Arp is modest and humble and rarely strives to be in the limelight or in a position of power. Hans Arp has a sharp analytical mind, a keen eye for detail, and prefers to observe, dissect, and study life from a distance. Conscientious and conservative, Arp can be relied upon to be cautious, efficient, and thorough in his work and he takes pride in a job well done. What he may lack in self-confidence Hans Arp often makes up for in skills - fostering expertise, technical knowledge and competence in a specialized area. He is adept at using his hands to create or fix things, and meticulous attention to detail and careful craftsmanship are his forte. Some would say he is a little too meticulous, for Arp can be extremely critical and petty if everything is not done exactly as he thinks it should be, and he worries about things that other people consider trivial and unimportant. Hans Arp likes to organize, categorize and arrange everything into a logical system and is often distinctly uncomfortable when something does not fit into a neat category. Disorganization vexes Arp. He probably wishes that he were not such a perfectionist, for besides being a stickler for details, Arp can also be mercilessly self-critical. Whether in his environment or within himself, Arp tends to focus on the flaws, with a desire to improve, refine, and perfect. He is strictly factual, truthful, and scrupulously honest in his self-assessment and often does not give himself enough praise or credit.

He is also highly discriminating and may be especially particular about his diet, hygiene, and health habits. Hans has high aesthetic standards and refined sensitivities, and is bothered by environmental elements (such as disorder, cigarette smoke, etc.) that others overlook. His tastes are simple and understated, yet refined. He is truly offended by coarseness, bluntness and vulgarity. Arp can sometimes be difficult to live with because of his fastidiousness, sensitivity and idiosyncrasies about food and cleanliness.

Though Hans Arp seems rather cool and self-contained, he is very helpful by nature and enjoys serving others. He is content to play a supporting role rather than the lead. He is quietly devoted to the ones he cares for.

He is cautious, realistic and practical in his approach to life and disinclined to gamble. Hans Arp analyzes before he acts. He is sometimes too serious. If Arp allowed himself to play and make mistakes, it would be highly beneficial to his health!

Hans Arp tends to get involved in the helping professions or in activities where his efforts are hidden, behind the scenes, unacknowledged, or unknown to the public. Asserting himself or getting up in front of an audience may be exceedingly uncomfortable for Arp.

There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Hans Arp, between his conscious attitudes and aspirations, and his deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs, and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Hans may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with his subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in his body may well be a signal that Hans Arp is denying or suppressing the messages from his subconscious or emotional self.

Ideally, Hans Arp will learn to accept the two quite different aspects of his and to express both of them. If he cannot do this, Arp is apt to attract many relationships into his life with people who reflect his denied or repressed qualities, and who seem to make his life difficult. Hans Arp has a healthy amount of self-control and self-discipline. Arp also radiates a rather responsible, trustworthy, solid feeling about himself which will win him the confidence of others, especially his superiors.

While he is realistic and conscientious (or overly conscientious), as described above, Hans Arp also has an otherworldly, dreamy, or mystically-inclined side, as described below.

He is imaginative and sensitive to anything colorful, beautiful or magical. He is attracted to artistic and creative pursuits, music and mysticism. His spiritual values color Hans' whole perspective and approach to life. He is idealistic and perhaps impractical.

He is warm-hearted, kind, generous and very popular, especially with the opposite sex. Arp's happy feelings rub off onto others and everyone enjoys being with him. Due to a protective and encouraging upbringing, his relationships with his parents are good.

Hans Arp has a sense of good fellowship and comradeship and is very much at ease in contact with others. Arp works successfully with others in his community, groups or associations and may get some assistance from some very powerful and influential people.

Hans Arp tends to become excited and upset at the slightest cause, generating tension with others. Hans also could encounter strange experiences or coincidences with others. He may have a feeling of being different than others and he wants to be his own person.
