Émile Zola motivation
Behind Zola's upbeat, friendly, open manner (described in the previous chapter), there is a very competitive, me-first, play-to-win sort of person.
He is a person who thrives on challenge, and he often feels that he must battle his way through life, relying on no one and nothing but his own strength, intelligence and courage. Émile Zola believes in being totally honest, true to himself and his own vision and convictions, even if it means standing alone. Honesty, integrity, personal honor and authenticity are Zola's gods, and he has no sympathy for weakness of character in others.
Émile Zola craves the freedom to do things in his own way, and he works very well independently. Cooperating with others or carrying out another's will is not his style. Émile likes to be the chief - or to go it alone.
Émile Zola loves action and if others are settling down into a nice, comfortable little rut, then he is always ready to stir things up, do something new, make changes and introduce some fresh blood. Routine and sameness are tantamount to death for him. He is not afraid of trying something that has never been done before, and even though he may sometimes be perceived as a fool, Émile Zola also discovers, invents and initiates things that others will later emulate. Taking risks and following his own star are the breath of life for Zola, and he wilts (or gets very frustrated and angry) if he cannot do this.
He is spontaneous, impulsive, direct, enthusiastic and assertive. Émile Zola believes in the power of positive thinking and positive action, and he perceives himself as a strong, even invincible, person. Émile Zola hates being ill or in a position of dependency. Accepting his own human limitations and emotional needs is often difficult for him.
He is basically aggressive in his attitudes and less adept at relating to others, picking up on subtle messages and nuances, listening, nurturing and harmonizing. He is often so fired up about his own projects or goals that he inadvertently runs over or ignores other people's feelings and interests. Being receptive and appreciative of others' contributions, ideas and feelings would be highly instrumental in improving Zola's relationships. His impatience to get on with things causes Émile Zola to be rather insensitive, thereby alienating others unnecessarily. He also frequently tries to accomplish his goals through anger or temper tantrums. Émile Zola would gain much by learning to slow down, relax and sometimes just let things be, however his energetic, restless nature rarely allows Émile Zola to do so.
He is a private person and inclined to withdraw in very public and impersonal social settings. Émile Zola prefers to work at home or in a very personal small business.
Zola invests a lot of his creative energy into his home, family relationships, and inner life.
The above description of Émile Zola is so deeply ingrained that he has little objectivity and often little appreciation for other, different ways of approaching life. Émile Zola tends to be one-sided. There is little ambiguity in his makeup and he generally knows what he wants and what will make him happy.
He is very open and receptive to the spiritual, intangible, and subtle realms, and can easily receive or give conscious guidance based on his inner attunement. Émile Zola takes many things for granted, such as the existence of an afterlife or the effects of subtle influences like aromatherapy, spiritual healing, etc. These things seem obvious to Émile, whereas to many people they are a matter of conjecture or even illusory. Émile Zola may not realize he has spiritual gifts because they come so naturally to him.
Inwardly he is zealous and fanatical, though he may hide his personal desires and intentions, as well as the intensity of his feelings. He is driven by a deep inner sense of destiny and mission and an almost compulsive desire for personal recognition. Émile is infatuated with power, incredibly willful and stubbornly fixated on achieving greatness or being someone Special. Émile Zola tends to worship heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma, and he often seeks to emulate them. Émile has potential for tremendous good or tremendous evil.
