Not only is Emanuel Ungaro restless and adventurous (as mentioned in the previous chapter), he also has a rebellious, unconventional streak and really wants to have a significant impact on the world. He is a very active person and likely to be involved in community affairs as well as successful in his business or career.
He is a freedom-loving, strong-willed and independent-minded individual, and he insists upon living his own life as he sees fit, even if it means ignoring convention and tradition. In personal relationships, Emanuel Ungaro cannot be owned or possessed, and while he is willing to share himself with another, he does not always adjust easily to the emotional give and take of close relationships. Though intellectually open, Ungaro can be enormously stubborn, opinionated and inflexible on a one-to-one level. Emanuel has strong convictions and feelings about fairness and equality, and he tries to abide by them; however, his ideals about how people "should" treat one another do not always take into account human weaknesses, differences and needs. Emanuel Ungaro probably dislikes sentimentality and traditional gender roles and "games".
He is fair, intelligent, objective and rational and he often let his head rule rather than his heart. Emanuel Ungaro seems rather self-sufficient and emotionally detached because he is capable of putting aside his personal feelings and viewing things dispassionately. But once Emanuel makes up his mind on an issue, it is difficult to dissuade him, and he can be rather dogmatic.
Emanuel Ungaro thinks in broad terms and is concerned with the world beyond his own personal sphere - his town, nation, or even planet. He is likely to become involved in, or show a keen interest in, community endeavors, social organizations and groups of all kinds. He enjoys being part of a group endeavor, and he often assumes the role of organizing, managing or supervising group activities.
Forward-looking and progressive, he harbors great hopes for the future. Emanuel Ungaro stays current and up to date, and responds to contemporary cultural trends, both in terms of personal style and ideas. When young, Emanuel Ungaro was very influenced by peer pressure and by all the "latest crazes". Emanuel has an experimental mind and is attracted to novelty.
His strong points include his concern for human welfare and social betterment, his sense of fairness and democratic spirit, and his vision. His faults are his stubbornness and inflexibility, and a tendency to be very obtuse and insensitive when it comes to personal feelings and human needs.
Ownership gives Emanuel Ungaro a sense of security, and he has a strong attachment to his possessions. Emanuel also has a natural instinct for or understanding of economics, finance, trade, and appraising the value of merchandise.
Emanuel Ungaro tends to see things from his perspective only and to be rather subjective. He also enjoys talking and expressing his views but does not always listen as well. Emanuel Ungaro has a clear mind, a love of learning and new experiences, and he needs constant mental stimulation and activity.
There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Emanuel Ungaro between his conscious attitudes and aspirations and his deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Emanuel may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with his subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in his body may well be a signal that Emanuel Ungaro is denying or suppressing the messages from his subconscious or emotional self.
Ideally, Emanuel Ungaro will learn to accept and express these two different sides of himself. Should he fail to do so, Ungaro is likely to be drawn into many relationships with people who reflect his denied or repressed qualities and seem to make his life difficult. (Also read chapter 4 in order to get a better picture of the duality described here.)
Ungaro occasionally gambles, splurges or overextends himself in ways that may be at odds with his usual way of doing things. Exaggerating his accomplishments or spending too much in order to impress others and build up his own self-esteem can be a problem. However, Emanuel Ungaro also has faith and an optimistic side, which enable him to recover from the negative consequences of his excesses, and to learn from them.
He is an original! Emanuel Ungaro radiates a sort of electrical excitement about the things he is interested in, and conveys this to others, but he also gets bored rather quickly. Emanuel does not mind being a bit unusual or breaking a few rules either.
He is prone to fanaticism and cannot go halfway in anything he does. His extremism may seem (and actually be) obsessive and somewhat blind. That is, Emanuel Ungaro does not always consciously understand why he feels as driven or intense about a given course of action as he does. There is a strong element of fate or inevitability in Ungaro's life. A significant death or loss in his close relationships is likely to profoundly influence Emanuel Ungaro and shape important life decisions and he may consciously seek out intense, life-or-death experiences as well.
His emotions are very intense and Emanuel Ungaro is excited quite easily. Love is very important to him and he is constantly seeking emotional fulfillment, but he will not waste time with casual relationships.
He is inclined to feel uncomfortable or restrained in some way in the presence of others and prefer to be alone. Emanuel Ungaro is modest and shy in his approach to others and tends to accept more responsibility than he really needs to.
