Edward Speleers motivation
Although Edward Speleers appears gentle and sympathetic toward others (as explained in the previous chapter), he is also a "warrior". Speleers sometimes feels torn between these two facets of his character: the sensitive, tenderhearted, home-loving side, and the assertive, competitive, risk-taking side. People who first meet Edward Speleers often think that he is a "softy", but later find out that he is strong willed and pursues his goals aggressively.
He is a person who thrives on challenge, and he often feels that he must battle his way through life, relying on no one and nothing but his own strength, intelligence and courage. Edward Speleers believes in being totally honest, true to himself and his own vision and convictions, even if it means standing alone. Honesty, integrity, personal honor and authenticity are Speleers' gods, and he has no sympathy for weakness of character in others.
Edward Speleers craves the freedom to do things in his own way, and he works very well independently. Cooperating with others or carrying out another's will is not his style. Edward likes to be the chief - or to go it alone.
Edward Speleers loves action and if others are settling down into a nice, comfortable little rut, then he is always ready to stir things up, do something new, make changes and introduce some fresh blood. Routine and sameness are tantamount to death for him. He is not afraid of trying something that has never been done before, and even though he may sometimes be perceived as a fool, Edward Speleers also discovers, invents and initiates things that others will later emulate. Taking risks and following his own star are the breath of life for Speleers, and he wilts (or gets very frustrated and angry) if he cannot do this.
He is spontaneous, impulsive, direct, enthusiastic and assertive. Edward Speleers believes in the power of positive thinking and positive action, and he perceives himself as a strong, even invincible, person. Edward Speleers hates being ill or in a position of dependency. Accepting his own human limitations and emotional needs is often difficult for him.
He is basically aggressive in his attitudes and less adept at relating to others, picking up on subtle messages and nuances, listening, nurturing and harmonizing. He is often so fired up about his own projects or goals that he inadvertently runs over or ignores other people's feelings and interests. Being receptive and appreciative of others' contributions, ideas and feelings would be highly instrumental in improving Speleers' relationships. His impatience to get on with things causes Edward Speleers to be rather insensitive, thereby alienating others unnecessarily. He also frequently tries to accomplish his goals through anger or temper tantrums. Edward Speleers would gain much by learning to slow down, relax and sometimes just let things be, however his energetic, restless nature rarely allows Edward Speleers to do so.
His career, reputation and public image are very important to Speleers. Edward Speleers has a strong desire to be influential or make his mark on the world. He is not satisfied with the personal sphere alone; his ambitions include making a major contribution and receiving broad recognition for his unique effort and gifts. Edward Speleers may undervalue the personal or inner facet of life.
Edward Speleers feels that he has the support of his family or others in his environment for his creative efforts and personal goals, which enables him to act with confidence. He is able to satisfy both his need to be an individual and his need for caring relationships and a sense of belonging. He is in harmony with himself and is therefore an effective individual.
Edward has an optimistic and harmonious personality and he happily goes about the attainment of his goals. Speleers knows how to make the best of life's opportunities and he gets along with everyone. Edward Speleers has the good fortune to live in pleasant and agreeable circumstances.
Speleers depends a great deal on other people's reactions to him and rarely acts until he sees how he affects others. Edward Speleers must learn to be direct and straightforward, rather than evasive or manipulative. Edward should also learn to rely heavily on his hunches.
