Clark Gable motivation
Behind Gable's rather cautious attitude and conservative appearance (mentioned in the previous chapter) lies a much more unconventional soul. He may seesaw between the traditional and the unorthodox, the pragmatic and the idealistic, or conformism and nonconformism. Clark Gable needs to find a balance or reconcile between these extremes. He may view himself as being more progressive than he is because Clark Gable surrounds himself with middle-of-the-road people. Moreover, his combination of objectivity and interest in world affairs and larger issues is likely to enable Clark Gable to become very successful at his business or whatever career he chooses.
He is a freedom-loving, strong-willed and independent-minded individual, and he insists upon living his own life as he sees fit, even if it means ignoring convention and tradition. In personal relationships, Clark Gable cannot be owned or possessed, and while he is willing to share himself with another, he does not always adjust easily to the emotional give and take of close relationships. Though intellectually open, Gable can be enormously stubborn, opinionated and inflexible on a one-to-one level. Clark has strong convictions and feelings about fairness and equality, and he tries to abide by them; however, his ideals about how people "should" treat one another do not always take into account human weaknesses, differences and needs. Clark Gable probably dislikes sentimentality and traditional gender roles and "games".
He is fair, intelligent, objective and rational and he often let his head rule rather than his heart. Clark Gable seems rather self-sufficient and emotionally detached because he is capable of putting aside his personal feelings and viewing things dispassionately. But once Clark makes up his mind on an issue, it is difficult to dissuade him, and he can be rather dogmatic.
Clark Gable thinks in broad terms and is concerned with the world beyond his own personal sphere - his town, nation, or even planet. He is likely to become involved in, or show a keen interest in, community endeavors, social organizations and groups of all kinds. He enjoys being part of a group endeavor, and he often assumes the role of organizing, managing or supervising group activities.
Forward-looking and progressive, he harbors great hopes for the future. Clark Gable stays current and up to date, and responds to contemporary cultural trends, both in terms of personal style and ideas. When young, Clark Gable was very influenced by peer pressure and by all the "latest crazes". Clark has an experimental mind and is attracted to novelty.
His strong points include his concern for human welfare and social betterment, his sense of fairness and democratic spirit, and his vision. His faults are his stubbornness and inflexibility, and a tendency to be very obtuse and insensitive when it comes to personal feelings and human needs.
Clark Gable has a clear sense of his own self and he therefore conveys a strong impression to others of who he is and what he wants. Assertive and self-motivated, Gable can be a leader - one whom others look to for direction - but he competes and often clash with other strong individuals. Clark Gable feels a need to be in control of his own life and he can be too self-involved, too immersed in his own interests, and oblivious to others at times.
Clark Gable tends to struggle with how to assert his will and he gets what he wants in life in a way that he can feel good about. Gable may be unsure about when to use force and take decisive action, and he may occasionally become inappropriately aggressive or pushy. Clark Gable may also disapprove of his own anger, competitiveness, or aggressive impulses - and thus have difficulty accessing his personal power. Learning to accept and express his "masculine" or "yang" qualities in a positive manner is a challenge for Gable.
He is an original! Clark Gable radiates a sort of electrical excitement about the things he is interested in, and conveys this to others, but he also gets bored rather quickly. Clark does not mind being a bit unusual or breaking a few rules either.
Clark Gable deeply believes in his own power and his ability to survive any change and emerge victorious from any difficulty. Clark has tremendous inner resources and strength. Intense, strong willed, and zealous, he pursues his desires and goals with complete dedication and singleness of purpose, and he may be somewhat compulsive and even fanatical at times. Clark likes to live intensely and has no respect for people who are weak or avoid confronting life and their own destiny.
He is strong-willed, forceful and independent. Gable knows what he wants, but sometimes may act too impulsively, causing quarrels or disagreement with others. Clark Gable tends to judge himself and others quite severely, but he is very sincere, honest and trustworthy.
