Chevy Chase motivation
Much of what is stated in the previous chapter is similar to what is stated in this one. Chevy Chase's need to relate openly and honestly to others is very strong. Chevy has to be wary of the tendency to be so strongly influenced by the ideas and opinions of others that he is unsure of his own.
Harmony and balance are his keynotes. Chevy Chase instinctively understands the need to accommodate other people's interests and desires, and he is always fair and willing to meet others half way. Tactful, diplomatic, and quite socially aware, Chevy does all he can to avoid conflict and discord. His spirit is one of cooperation and compromise, and he often achieves through charm and discretion what would have been impossible to achieve with a direct, forceful approach.
Getting along with and pleasing others may be too important to Chase since he can be too dependent on the approval and opinions of other to make his own decisions. Chase will rarely act without seeking the counsel and feedback of other people. He prefers sharing and doing things with others rather than on his own. Being alone feels very unnatural to Chevy Chase, and he has a strong need for a partner and intimate one-on-one relationships.
Chevy Chase invests a great deal of his energy in personal love relationships and he is very idealistic and romantic about marriage. Chevy Chase seeks a partner who is his equal intellectually, and who is capable of a mental relationship as well as a physical and emotional one. He makes a thoughtful, considerate friend or lover, and he enjoys the traditional symbols of love - courtship, flowers, etc. Chase perceives relationships like an art that requires time, attention and creative effort. Chevy Chase appreciates a partner who is subtle and polished, never coarse or blunt.
Fairness and equality, both in his personal relationships and in the world, are extremely important to him. If Chevy Chase fights about anything, it is often about something he feels is unfair and unbalanced. Balance is very important to Chevy. He believes in moderation in all things and avoids fanaticism and extremism at all costs.
Chevy Chase also has a strong need for beautiful, harmonious surroundings and a natural sense of artistic style and grace, which is reflected in the way Chase dresses and furnishes his home and workspace. Everything must be aesthetically pleasing and appropriate. Working with people as a counselor, advisor, consultant, or negotiator, or in an artistic field such as design or photography would be fulfilling to him.
Chevy Chase tends to get involved in the helping professions or in activities where his efforts are hidden, behind the scenes, unacknowledged or unknown to the public. Chase may find it exceedingly uncomfortable to assert himself or get up in front of an audience.
He is strong-willed, forceful and independent. Chase knows what he wants, but sometimes may act too impulsively, causing quarrels or disagreement with others. Chevy Chase tends to judge himself and others quite severely, but he is very sincere, honest and trustworthy.
He prefers more serious kinds of conversation with his friends and neighbors rather than small talk. Because his communication is clear and concise, Chevy Chase can impress others by taking control of negotiations or business dealings.
Chase depends a great deal on other people's reactions to him and rarely acts until he sees how he affects others. Chevy Chase must learn to be direct and straightforward, rather than evasive or manipulative. Chevy should also learn to rely heavily on his hunches.
