Because Casper Van Dien seems to be such a gentle, tolerant, accepting person (as mentioned in the previous chapter), he can startle people with some of his very pointed, bluntly honest statements. Even though he is sensitive and empathetic, he can also be quite tactless at times. His good will and good intentions, however, usually prevail. With Van Dien's free-flowing imagination (described earlier) and his great restlessness (discussed below), he is apt to be a wanderer, and perhaps somewhat of an escapist.
