Barbara Bush motivation
Behind Bush's rather rambunctious, sporty, exuberant demeanor (described in the previous chapter), she is also quick-witted, intelligent and in need of mental stimulation as much as physical freedom.
Barbara Pierce Bush is, in many ways, an eternal child. Her mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and her attention span is often quite brief. Bush grasps ideas quickly and once her initial curiosity has been satisfied, she is ready to move on. Barbara Pierce Bush craves frequent change and variety, as well as new situations and people.
It may be hard for Barbara Pierce Bush to decide just where her talents and true vocation lie, for she has a multitude of interests and is loathe limiting herself by concentrating on just one. She is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. Her curiosity and restlessness propel Barbara toward many different experiences in life, and she is willing to taste or try anything once. Doing the same thing over and over again, even if it is something she does well, is tantamount to drudgery for Bush.
Barbara Pierce Bush lives in her head a great deal - reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around - and she needs mental stimulation every bit as much as she needs food and drink. In fact, if Barbara had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, she would very likely choose the former. Barbara Pierce Bush has a creative mind and she often lives by her wits.
She is also a very social creature, with a strong need to communicate and interact with people. She enjoys using and playing with words and has a real flair for getting her ideas across in a clever, interesting, articulate manner. Writing and/or speaking are areas she has talent for.
Barbara Pierce Bush also has a rather lighthearted and mischievous sense of humor, and often does not take anything too seriously. Though she craves emotional involvement, it is hard for Barbara Pierce Bush to achieve it, for she is frequently unwilling to commit herself to anything, to take responsibility or to limit her personal freedom and mobility.
Her happiness lies in using her creativity and language skills to communicate something meaningful, teach, inspire, or bring people together. Barbara has an unbiased mind and can usually offer a fresh, clear, uncluttered perspective. Her faults are her lack of constancy and persistence, and her tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.
Barbara Pierce Bush invests a tremendous amount of her creative energy into her relationships with others, particularly her marriage or other close partnerships. Barbara feels that she needs others in order to be all that she can be, and she is disinclined to solitary activities and endeavors.
Working with people on a one-to-one basis to bring about mutual understanding, harmony, and satisfaction is an area in which Barbara Pierce Bush can really excel. Counseling or negotiating are talents of hers.
There is an ongoing, subtle conflict within Barbara Pierce Bush, between her conscious attitudes and aspirations, and her deeper emotional and subconscious beliefs, needs, and feelings. This creates considerable inner stress and sometimes paralyzing indecision, mostly due to the fact that Barbara may be trying to follow a path that is at odds with her subconscious desires. Chronic tightness or tension in her body may well be a signal that Barbara Pierce Bush is denying or suppressing the messages from her subconscious or emotional self.
Ideally, Barbara Pierce Bush will learn to accept the two quite different aspects of her and to express both of them. If she cannot do this, Bush is apt to attract many relationships into her life with people who reflect her denied or repressed qualities, and who seem to make her life difficult. (Read also chapter 4 in order to get a better picture of the duality described here.)
She is very open and receptive to the spiritual, intangible, and subtle realms, and can easily receive or give conscious guidance based on her inner attunement. Barbara Pierce Bush takes many things for granted, such as the existence of an afterlife or the effects of subtle influences like aromatherapy, spiritual healing, etc. These things seem obvious to Barbara, whereas to many people they are a matter of conjecture or even illusory. Barbara Pierce Bush may not realize she has spiritual gifts because they come so naturally to her.
Bush always seems to find the right words to verbalize her feelings, especially in regard to love and friendship. Barbara Pierce Bush also has a keen sense of beauty and she probably appreciates art, music or poetry.
