Annabel Chong motivation
Though Annabel Chong cares very much about her dignity and the way she is perceived by others (as described on the previous page), she has a very mischievous, playful side that pokes fun of anyone who takes herself too seriously (including herself!). Also, though her great loyalty was highlighted in the previous chapter, fortunately she is also flexible and playful, so she does not allow her commitments to become too burdensome.
Annabel Chong is, in many ways, an eternal child. Her mind is bright, alert, curious, flexible, playful and always eager for new experiences - and her attention span is often quite brief. Chong grasps ideas quickly and once her initial curiosity has been satisfied, she is ready to move on. Annabel Chong craves frequent change and variety, as well as new situations and people.
It may be hard for Annabel Chong to decide just where her talents and true vocation lie, for she has a multitude of interests and is loathe limiting herself by concentrating on just one. She is easily distracted by all of the other fascinating possibilities. Her curiosity and restlessness propel Annabel toward many different experiences in life, and she is willing to taste or try anything once. Doing the same thing over and over again, even if it is something she does well, is tantamount to drudgery for Chong.
Annabel Chong lives in her head a great deal - reading, observing, thinking, spinning ideas around - and she needs mental stimulation every bit as much as she needs food and drink. In fact, if Annabel had to choose between a good book or movie and a good lunch, she would very likely choose the former. Annabel Chong has a creative mind and she often lives by her wits.
She is also a very social creature, with a strong need to communicate and interact with people. She enjoys using and playing with words and has a real flair for getting her ideas across in a clever, interesting, articulate manner. Writing and/or speaking are areas she has talent for.
Annabel Chong also has a rather lighthearted and mischievous sense of humor, and often does not take anything too seriously. Though she craves emotional involvement, it is hard for Annabel Chong to achieve it, for she is frequently unwilling to commit herself to anything, to take responsibility or to limit her personal freedom and mobility.
Her happiness lies in using her creativity and language skills to communicate something meaningful, teach, inspire, or bring people together. Annabel has an unbiased mind and can usually offer a fresh, clear, uncluttered perspective. Her faults are her lack of constancy and persistence, and her tendency to overlook or ignore deep emotional issues and other people's feelings.
Her career, reputation, and public image are very important to Chong. Annabel Chong has a strong desire to be influential or make her mark on the world. The merely personal sphere does not satisfy her; her ambitions include making a major contribution and receiving broad recognition for her unique effort and gifts. Annabel Chong may undervalue the personal or inner side of life.
Annabel Chong is extremely sensitive, compassionate and giving, often to her own detriment. Her ideals and spiritual values motivate Annabel Chong, and she cannot live for personal gain or materialistic concerns alone. There must be an element of beauty, magic, imagination, inspiration or creativity in what she does. Otherwise Annabel Chong becomes listless and aimless. The arts, theater, music and/or charitable work are ideally suited to Annabel.
Annabel Chong deeply believes in her own power and her ability to survive any change and emerge victorious from any difficulty. Annabel has tremendous inner resources and strength. Intense, strong willed, and zealous, she pursues her desires and goals with complete dedication and singleness of purpose, and she may be somewhat compulsive and even fanatical at times. Annabel likes to live intensely and has no respect for people who are weak or avoid confronting life and their own destiny.
Her courage to face life seems to be a bit on the low side and Annabel Chong is prone to worry a lot. Fear of her own inadequacies could distort her perspective and deplete her strength to go on in the direction she has chosen.
