Anna Pavlova motivation
Anna has two conflicting interests that she tries to resolve. As described in the previous chapter, she loves to nurture and support others, and family relationships are very important to Pavlova. However, there is another side to Anna Pavlova: at heart she is a very independent person and she needs to participate in community endeavors and be involved with the world at large. Having a meaningful career and being involved in a larger circle of friends and associates is important to her as well. There are many ways to satisfy both of these sides. She may become an advocate for family needs or women's and children's issues in the workplace and in society as a whole. Or she may simply lend a personal, supportive, human touch to the impersonal atmosphere of business or academia. One negative possibility, however, is that she is may become very dogmatic about her own personal concerns and biases, not realizing how many of her social, political and even scientific views are rooted in personal experience rather than objective criteria.
She is a freedom-loving, strong-willed and independent-minded individual, and she insists upon living her own life as she sees fit, even if it means ignoring convention and tradition. In personal relationships, Anna Pavlova cannot be owned or possessed, and while she is willing to share herself with another, she does not always adjust easily to the emotional give and take of close relationships. Though intellectually open, Pavlova can be enormously stubborn, opinionated and inflexible on a one-to-one level. Anna has strong convictions and feelings about fairness and equality, and she tries to abide by them; however, her ideals about how people "should" treat one another do not always take into account human weaknesses, differences and needs. Anna Pavlova probably dislikes sentimentality and traditional gender roles and "games".
She is fair, intelligent, objective and rational and she often let her head rule rather than her heart. Anna Pavlova seems rather self-sufficient and emotionally detached because she is capable of putting aside her personal feelings and viewing things dispassionately. But once Anna makes up her mind on an issue, it is difficult to dissuade her, and she can be rather dogmatic.
Anna Pavlova thinks in broad terms and is concerned with the world beyond her own personal sphere - her town, nation, or even planet. She is likely to become involved in, or show a keen interest in, community endeavors, social organizations and groups of all kinds. She enjoys being part of a group endeavor, and she often assumes the role of organizing, managing or supervising group activities.
Forward-looking and progressive, she harbors great hopes for the future. Anna Pavlova stays current and up to date, and responds to contemporary cultural trends, both in terms of personal style and ideas. When young, Anna Pavlova was very influenced by peer pressure and by all the "latest crazes". Anna has an experimental mind and is attracted to novelty.
Her strong points include her concern for human welfare and social betterment, her sense of fairness and democratic spirit, and her vision. Her faults are her stubbornness and inflexibility, and a tendency to be very obtuse and insensitive when it comes to personal feelings and human needs.
Her career, reputation, and public image are very important to Pavlova. Anna Pavlova has a strong desire to be influential or make her mark on the world. The merely personal sphere does not satisfy her; her ambitions include making a major contribution and receiving broad recognition for her unique effort and gifts. Anna Pavlova may undervalue the personal or inner side of life.
Anna Pavlova has a healthy amount of self-control and self-discipline. Pavlova also radiates a rather responsible, trustworthy, solid feeling about herself which will win her the confidence of others, especially her superiors.
She is intensely willful, zealous, and fanatical though Anna often hides the intensity of her feelings and her personal motives and desires. Pavlova is infatuated with power and has an almost compulsive desire for personal recognition and the desire to be "somebody". Anna Pavlova tends to worship heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma and often seeks to emulate them. Anna Pavlova both fears, and is intensely fascinated with, death and the hidden, secret, dark side of life.
Anna Pavlova is a restless spirit, a bit self-willed, and she has a tendency to overstrain her nervous system. She is easily aroused and quick to explode when things do not meet her expectations. She is highly individualistic, resourceful and determined.
She is inclined to feel uncomfortable or restrained in some way in the presence of others and prefer to be alone. Anna Pavlova is modest and shy in her approach to others and tends to accept more responsibility than she really needs to.
